For any pairing of your choosing! (Or the ones you haven't answered yet) : 12, 30, 47 and 74 (I'm keen on how how 74 plays out for Tyril/Maiele and Trystan/Gabriel)
Ahh thank you!! Especially for #74 hehe
12. What is something their S/O does that makes them flustered?
Let’s go Maiele since he’s always the one flustering Tyril like it’s his dream job (and let’s be honest it is). Not much flusters Maiele but he cannot take a compliment seriously and will always make a joke of it. So when Tyril is dead serious (and when is he not) about complimenting him and won’t let it go until he accepts it, Maiele gets a wee bit flustered. Beyond that, Maiele will always get flustered when Tyril is extremely formal in romantic ways.
Answers this one for Trystan x Gabriel here.
30. Describe how one character would cheer the other up after a hard day.
Maiele would tell jokes and cook and just do whatever Tyril wanted. Including practicing proper elven protocols hehe
Elam (TCH) would give massages and just tell stories of growing up or fairy tales they had heard growing up to amuse Kieran.
Answered for Tenebris x Connor (It Lives) and Kalen x Gabe x Cas (ID) here.
47. If it ever came down to it, who is turning to the darkside to save the other?
Maiele would for any of them but especially Tyril. (Gods know none of them would do the same in canon for MC). I do believe Tyril would eventually, but only after having exhausted all other possibilities.
74. Who's more likely to bail who out of jail? Would they give the other one shit for it?
bahaha!!! I love this one!!!
Tyril x Maiele: Tyril would bail Maiele out immediately without question but would proceed to lecture him on it for the entirety of the ride home and the entire next week or two. Maiele on the other hand would take great joy in the situation and would come ready to bail Tyril out but would have way too much fun with it all before actually admitting he was there to bail him out.
—————
“Well, well, well,” he smirked. “Now this is a scene I never thought I would see.”
“Thank the gods you’re here,” Tyril leapt to the bars from where he stood in the middle of the holding cell. “Did you pay bail?”
Maiele chuckled.
“Yeah,” he smiled brighter at Tyril’s relived face, “that would be a no on the bailing you out thing.”
“Wait! What?”
“You see I need to enjoy this a bit more. I’m the one with the criminal record not you. This is a unexpected and pleasant turn of events.”
“Maiele,” Tyril sighed, “this is not funny. Please, bail me out.”
“Wait, hold that look,” Maiele instructed as he pulled his mobile out and snapped a picture and his fingers started typing furiously across the keypad.
“What are you doing?” Tyril asked.
“Mal said pictures or it didn’t happen.”
“You told him?”
Maiele looked up with a grin, “Yep.”
Tyril made a swipe at his phone as Maiele took a lazy step back.
“And sent.”
He leaned in and kissed Tyril through the bars and whispered, “I’ll go see about that bail now.”
“Why bother. The real damage is already done,” Tyril pouted.
Trystan x Gabriel: Trystan would have the same amount of fun with it as Maiele would so Gabriel would never in a million years call Trystan to bail them out. Nor would he call Ruby or Uncle Tommy since both would immediately turn around and tell Trystan who would then show up with the bail money. Gabriel would call Mafalda who would come bail them out and then Gabriel would pray Trystan never finds out.
Gabriel on the other hand hehe
—————
Gabriel’s phone pinged and they glanced at it briefly.
Trystan: i need u
Gabriel rolled their eyes and chuckled. There was no way they were indulging him in whatever nonsense he had in mind. Gabriel went back to reading the case files in front of them until seconds later another text came through.
Trystan: prob going to b arrested ;D
Gabriel immediately picked the phone up and called Trystan. It rang and rang. They left message after message instructing Trystan to stop messing around and call them. When that didn’t work, they began calling some of their contacts at the various precincts to see if Trystan had in fact been arrested.
Eventually, having exhausted all possibilities, they waited and sure enough their phone rang.
“Hey gorgeous,” his familiar voice purred.
“Trystan, what the fuck! Are you okay?”
“Absolutely! These lovely officers here have been most kind and have seen me to some of their best accommodations. Complete with metal benches and new friends.”
“Trystan, what did you do? No wait, don’t answer that. Don’t say anything. Did you call your lawyer?”
“He’s on his way. This is not my first rodeo as he likes to say.”
Gabriel could hear the amusement in his voice.
“What do you need?”
“You.”
“Trystan, be serious.”
“Oh I am being very serious. I always need you to-“
A pointed cough on the other ends stopped where Trystan was going.
“What I need is for someone to bail me out. I thought that would be obvious, love.”
Well then, dear, what should be obvious,” Gabriel’s amused voice dripped with sarcasm, “is that I am not the one to bail you out. That would be your sister.”
“She said I was your responsibility now,” Trystan laughed.
“How many phone calls have you made?” Gabriel grew serious.
“You are my third. Lawyer seemed most important. Then Marguerite for bail but she said no,” he laughed.
“So I am… I’m call number three?” Gabriel sighed.
“You love me,” Trystan said.
“Do I?”
“Yes you do. Deeply and passionately and with your whole-“
Gabriel heard an officer interrupt Trystan.
“Got to go. See you soon with my bail money. You remember where I keep it, right?”
“Yes. But you owe me. Big time.”

Zosan x Reader silly little Drabble
Synopsis: Law makes reader and Sanji switch bodies. Zoro gets all lovey dovey on Sanji in reader’s body.
Luffy was jumping up and down over the news of a possible island that had funky gravity and could make you float. He wanted to visit it but the only way he could get there is if he got a map on some random island called Floria that kept it a secret.
Y/N was out on the deck as Luffy began to whine about how badly he wanted to go. She laughed and asked him more about his woes. When he mentioned the island of Floria she froze. Memories began to resurface.
A few years back she visited Floria. It was known for it’s peace and unity. She stopped by there as it was on her course and was intrigued by the history it held and the overall environment. However, one night she got too drunk and began to reek havoc on the quaint village. She of course regrets the incident but her face is plastered all over the island.
“I’ve been to that island.” She says plainly.
Luffy’s eyes light up and he begins to jump up in down in front of her, “Do you know about the map?”
Y/N bit her lip slightly and nodded, “Yeah. When I was there I learned about the tale of the space island. The island is similar to that of Jaya as it holds profound history and secrets.”
Luffy ran around the deck, “So cool! So cool! We must go! You can get the map for us then.”
Y/N deadpanned, “Absolutely not Luffy.”
“Hah?? Why not?” He whined.
Y/N pauses for a second, “Let’s just say I’m not very welcome there anymore.”
Usopp at this point made his presence known, “Ohoo Y/N, did you do something bad?” He teased.
“Shut up long nose! It’s none of your business!” She retorted and shot Usopp a death glare which shut him up. “Besides, we can still go. I’m just not going to step foot on the island”
“But that will make everything harrderr. I want to go to the space island now.”
“Too bad Luffy,” Y/N rolled her eyes and began to make her way to the galley.
Usopp held his hand to his chin in thought, “Oo! What if we get that Law guy to have Y/N switch bodies with someone so that she can go on the island without any problems?!”
Luffy smiled wildley, “Wow Usoppu, that’s a great idea! Why don’t you just switch bodies with someone yeah!!”
Y/N’s eye twitched at the idea.
“Why Sanji?! He’s just going to be all weird in my body!”
“Oooo Y/N-Chwan~ I’ll only admire it,” Sanji said with heart eyes.
Y/N grimaced and bonked Sanji over the head.
“Well Sanji doesn’t need to go on this mission and he can stay and watch the ship. Everyone else has a duty they need to fulfill on the island,” Nami said.
“Why can’t I switch with you Nami? What are you doing?” Y/N complained.
Nami smiled and brushed her hair back, “I am going to go gamble.”
“Are you serious?!” Y/N exclaimed.
“Look, we need more berries for our next trip out anyway.”
Y/N sighed, “I’m not going to win this battle.”
Sanji only smiled in excitement.
Being in Sanji’s body was weird for Y/N. Her hands felt very soft but her feet and legs ached. She pursed her lips as she made her way into the familiar ruins with Robin, Luffy, and Law.
“From what I remember the walls on the left side hold inscriptions of where the map is located.”
Robin smiled and went to glance over at the ruins to decipher. Putting her hand along the engravings she said, “It seems as though there is an underground tunnel that leads to where the map is.”
Y/N just nodded her head as Luffy began to jump in excitement.
While everyone else was doing their own thing, Zoro busied himself in town looking for some sword sharpeners and polishes.
Wandering around alone was not a good idea for him as he traveled around the town loving for a sword shop but couldn’t find one by dark. He huffed and started heading back to where the water was so he could hopefully find the ship.
He was exhausted as his brain became fried from trying to remember directions all day and as the Sunny came into view a sigh of relief came out of his mouth.
He couldn’t wait to get back on the ship and fall asleep and go looking again the next day. Maybe he would luck out and even find a bar to get a drink.
As he got back on the deck he noticed movement in the galley and he went to investigate. When he opened the door further he saw Y/N cooking up a meal.
Confused as to why his girlfriend was cooking when it was Sanji’s job really irritated him. How dare that lazy bum make his girlfriend cook.
“Oi. Just what are you doin’?”
Sanji in Y/N’s body turned to face him confused, “Hah?”
“That stupid cook should be the one making you food.” Zoro continued to walk up to him.
Sanji gritted his teeth, “The hell are ya playin at Mosshead?”
Zoro furrowed his brows, “First you’re cookin’ and now you’re calling me Mosshead? Y/N you’ve been spending too much time with that stupid cook ya know.”
“You idiot!” Sanji began to raise his leg to kick him but Zoro caught it and held onto it as if rested on his shoulder.
“Even fighting like him, sweetheart. You truly are spending too much time with him. Guess I’ll have to show him who’s yours,” Zoro smirked and grabbed Sanji’s cheek pulling him in closer.
Sanji’s eyes widened as he began to try and kick Zoro with his other leg but alas due to Y/N’s not as flexible body it was no use.
Zoro put Sanji’s leg down and then wrapped his arms around his waist. He began to lean in and Sanji’s heart rate picked up. Was this really happening.
Zoro’s lips finally met his in a quick peck before it became a little more passionate. Sanji involuntarily moaned into the kiss and tangled his hands in Zoro’s hair.
Zoro smirked as Sanji let out a little moan as they kissed. Sanji pulled him closer and the kiss lasted for a minute before the rusted gears in Zoro’s brain turned and his eyes flew open pushing Sanji away.
“What the hell?” Sanji exclaimed.
“Y-You’re not Y/N!” Zoro gave him a look of horror.
Sanji rolled his eyes, “Looks like the moss in your brain died and you finally saw the light. You truly are so stupid.”
“Oh my god. Oh my god. I kissed the cook. But I also kissed Y/N? Is this cheating?!” Zoro began to panic.
“Get a grip Marimo,” Sanji took out a cigarette and began to light it before Zoro approached him and took it out of his mouth.
“Please don’t destroy her lungs.”
“Fine. Fine.” Sanji shrugged and turned back to making food.
“So. You’re not going to say anything else?” Zoro questioned nervously.
Sanji pauses for a moment, “I don’t even know what to say anymore. I’m a little dazed.”
Zoro smirked a bit, “Do I really kiss that well Dartbrow?”
Sanji gritted his teeth, “Shut up shitty swordsman.”

BTS scenario: Yoongi finds you after 1,871 days (1)
Tumblr media
Summary: It takes 1,871 days for Yoongi to find you. Five years, one month, and four days. He’s turned over every house in your village, every pack in your province, and chased your family to every distant home you have before arriving to a quaint apartment in the middle of Seoul. Warnings/Notes: The continuation to Yoongi’s part in this scenario drabble. Please read because it might not sense if you don’t lol. No warnings as of now.
Word Count: 1,500+ words READ PART TWO HERE
Tumblr media
It takes 1,871 days for Yoongi to find you.
Five years, one month, and four days. He’s turned over every house in your village, every pack in your province, and chased your family to every distant home you have before arriving to a quaint apartment in the middle of Seoul.
Inside the car and behind the tinted windows, Yoongi stares up to your apartment. It’s small, but it comes with a balcony where clothes hang to dry. He recognizes a familiar red blouse, and a blue jumper.
What he doesn’t recognize are these: a small pair of shorts, a school uniform, and a plain shirt - all in a size of perfect for a child.
Tumblr media
1,871 days is a long time but you split it like this: the time before Yongho and the time after Yongho.
It didn’t take long for you to leave the pack after that night with Yoongi. You knew then that if you drag your feet, you’ll never be able to leave. So, with your family’s promise and blessing, you packed your bags, your savings, and your heart and boarded the next plane out of the country.
You didn’t think Yoongi would look for you (but you hoped, desperately, sometimes even too much) but still, you took serious precautions. Running away with an alpha’s child is not a slight offense regardless of the reason.
With no family and no friends, you hunkered down in the outskirts of Taipei. You watched summer turn to fall, and then by winter, your arms are warmed by the small bundle of joy that is your son.
Yongho is a precious boy, with your nose and lips, and Yoongi’s feline eyes. He’s curious, energetic, and affectionate, and not a day goes by that you’re not thankful for his presence.
When he turned three, and with no new news of Yoongi coming from your family, you opted to return to your homeland to finish your post-graduate studies. You never planned on hiding Yongho from his father forever, but for years after you left, your family urged you not to reveal yourself.
The pack has splintered, stay hidden until everything settles. They are invoking the old law.
And so you did, however, now, circumstances have changed.
Tumblr media
“Yongho, I’d like to introduce you to someone.”
Yoongi watches a few steps behind you as you kneel down to your child’s height. Even with your crouching form, he still couldn’t see his son’s features. He’s small for his age, he muses, just like he was in his youth.
Yoongi hears a sound of high-pitched approval from his child, before your lips curve into a familiar smile.
“Good,” you say, “Why don’t you change clothes and then you can join us in the kitchen?”
The little boy scampers away with a giggle and you silently turn to Yoongi, leading him to the kitchen.
Your apartment isn’t small, but it’s not large either. The kitchen is quaint with herbs growing on the small window by the sink. Yoongi smells the leftover scents of bacon, milk, and eggs from the air mixed with the tea you placed in front of him.
For a while, it’s silent and Yoongi takes care to observe you.
It’s been five years but somehow, the difference startles him. Though your features remained the same, there’s a certain hardness to it now, like a polished sword - a calm protective air.
“Mama! I’m ready!”
Your scent immediately spikes with warmth as you hear your son’s steps down the stairs. You turn in your chair, catching him so readily in your arms.
“I combed my hair too, see?” Yongho peers up to you with a smile, one of his front teeth missing. Smiling fondly, you touch his hair lightly. “I see that, my love, good job.”
Yongho grins before turning and glancing at the man with his eyes, sitting at the other end of your dining table. His smile wobbles at the seriousness in the man’s face but he perseveres. He’s a guest, mama said.
Seeing that Yoongi has caught your son’s attention, you clear your throat. You’ve never lied about your son’s father ever since he first asked about it when he was three, and so this conversation shouldn’t be hard.
“Yongho, this is Yoongi, your father.”
Tumblr media
The secondary gender’s characteristics manifests early into puberty. However, with the advancement of science and technology, people have found a way to determine an individual’s secondary gender as early as they’re 6 months old.
You tried avoiding these tests for Yongho to give him a shot at a regular, unburdened childhood but it became unavoidable when you tried to enroll him to his first pre-school class.
It had taken all of your family’s dwindling connections to scrub the records clean but even that isn’t enough to keep the news from reaching the elders ears.
Your son, little Y/L/N Yongho, is the rarest of them all - a male omega.
Tumblr media
And so you called Yoongi. It’s less of him finding you, and more of you allowing yourself to be found. With nothing left to possibly do, you reached out to the only one you think can help.
Things have settled quite quickly, your son is young, forgiving and eager. At the sight of his father, he quickly warmed up and you watched Yoongi struggle faintly at the overwhelming energy of your pup.
They spent the whole day in his room, watching movie after movie, and playing with every toy Yongho owns. He even showed his father his drawings, most of which were of the town you lived in Taiwan.
“So that’s where you went.” Yoongi observes, finger touching the crayon drawing of you and Yongho making pineapple cakes.
The sun has already set and Yongho’s knocked out in his room. The two of you are once again across each other, on the other sides of your mahogany kitchen table.
“Yes,” you respond calmly, “We stayed there for three years.”
Yoongi breathes, closes his eyes and tries not to think of you, heavily pregnant and alone. There’s time to discuss the past, but that’s not today. Still, he couldn’t help the bitterness seep into his voice, not after he’s known what he missed for five years.
A son, a beautiful son.
“Had I known you’re craving pineapple cakes, we would’ve sent for it.”
I looked for you, he wants to say, I nearly went mad, looking for you.
You let out a pained chuckle, “Funny. I actually couldn’t stand it when I was pregnant. Yongho loves them though.”
“Why am I here?” Yoongi cuts, his alpha rearing its head. That’s our blood she hid, it snarls, our seed, our son - she took him away!
Wordlessly, you took out a red envelope from under your seat. The familiar seal of the pack elders broken into two. You slide it towards Yoongi and watch as he reads it contents.
You watch as his eyes grow sharper and his jaw clench reading the request of the elders. He too, has changed, you observe. The wild energy you’ve associated with him is gone, perhaps veiled under the surface.
After all, an omega’s chosen alpha should be a man of discipline.
“They can’t do this,” Yoongi grits out. “It’s against the law to take a child from their family.”
You shake your head, nights poured over the texts of your youth heavy on your mind, “The pack only recognizes families of mated individuals.”
Yoongi’s eyes flicker at your unmarked neck and his alpha curls into himself. Unmarked. Our son’s mother is unmarked, it whimpers. Before he could speak, you continue on.
“I’ve read the books, and sought advice from the Wong pack of Taipei, there are two ways to avoid this—“
Marriage, Yoongi thinks, and the box in his pocket suddenly weighs a ton. He’s carried it around for five years, hoping to find you.
“—but since mating is out of question—“ a flash of the old you passes in your eyes, and Yoongi opens his mouth to protest, but you don’t stop.
“— I’ve invoked the ancient law.” You pause, taking a deep breathe. “A month from now, I’ll be battling the primary alpha of the pack for the custody of our child.”
Yoongi gasps. The primary alpha… is Jeon Jungkook, one of their strongest and most devoted to the omega. He’ll tear you apart if she so asks.
Yoongi startles when you push your chair back, standing suddenly in front of him. Your eyes are brimming with unshed tears, but your back is straight, as you kneel down- your forehead to the ground, a few inches from his feet.
“Min Yoongi, alpha of the Min family, father of my son, my former betrothed — for all that we were and we cannot be, I beseech you.”
Yoongi’s alpha is snarling inside his head, confused, scared, angry at your thoughtless decision and his own thoughtlessness that lead you here. It’s a visceral reaction - an alpha doesn’t bow to another alpha, but here you are.  Everything for your son.
“If I lose, take our son. He needs your name.”
Tumblr media
END NOTES: Well, this got out of hand. There’s a lot unsaid between these two and a lot of time passed by between the them in the drabble and this one. Let me know what you think! I’m thinking of where to bring the other hyungline members’ plotlines still.  Hearts are great but comments and reblogs will reach a lot more readers. Let’s spread the love!  Should I continue Yoongi’s story? What do you think will happen? oh my GOD I love your headcanon with Edwina and drunk Anthony!! Could we maybe get more headcanons with drunk Kate and Anthony (maybe after their stag and hen nights) and them being sloppy and cute?
Oh Heyyyyyyyy
Drunk Anthony is a handsy lil’ Cutie is he not? He just wants everyone to know how much he loves Kate. Drunk Kate is a mess all singing, all dancing, as she tries to tuck random things in her purse. Edwina, Lucy and the Bridgerton gals had their work quite cut out for them as the attempted to herd drunk Kate through London which was about as successful as herding a cat. Benedict, Colin, Gregory, and Simon were no more successful with Anthony who just kept begging to get to go home to Kate. Fortunately for us, both of these nights Coincided. Someone else was also interested in this concept!
Anon asked: Hey given the craziness of Sophie’s hen party I can only imagine how Kate’s and Anthony’s went. Can we get a Drabble for both of them? PS I know your ask box is crazy full so sorry for this lol My inbox is crazy, butttt I have had a sandwich and I am ready to do this!
Let’s give this a Lil’ peep shall we!
“I Think I’m in love with Anthony!” Kate yelled loudly in her sister’s ear over the music in the bar. Edwina laughed loudly.  “I should hope so, you’re marrying him in a week.” She said, and Kate shook her head, her glazed eyes, wide as though she had to tell her sister very important. It was all Edwina could do not to keep from laughing.
“Nooooo.” Kate moaned, “You don’t understand!” She said turning to Lucy, who was swaying just slightly, as Kate wrapped her arms around her.  “La la la Lucy!” She sung, very loudly, and endearingly, Edwina bit her lip to keep from laughing “That’s what Gregory calls you!” and then she gasped loudly! “Oh my GOSH LUCY! You should marry Gregory! You should marry Gregory and then we’ll be like sisters! I’m a good sister, you can ask Eddie!” Kate said, her words slurring together. Lucy who was only a little less drunk than Kate, seemingly with no idea how she came to be in this position.
Edwina knew it was that Daphne, who was heavily pregnant had decided to have her fun by topping up everyone’s drinks in secret. The results were, Edwina had to admit, impressive. Francesca and Eloise seemed to be taking it in turns photograph themselves with a a potted tree in the corner, Lucy had impressed everyone with an display of gymnastics across the back of the booths, Edwina had heard the bartender, Chris mutter Jesus Fucking christ How did she not break her neck in those heels?!
“She is a good sister Lucy!” She said loudly, her own head feeling more than a little fuzzy “You should marry Gregory!” Lucy blushed, spilling her drink a little as she shook her head “I wanna marry Gregory! He’s sooo pretty! And his glasses are so cute! But he hasn’t asked me! Like, what if he doesn’t wanna marry me?!” Lucy yelled, her words tumbling out, falling over each other. Kate tutted.
“No! NO! You’re so great! Of course he wants to marry you! I’ll call him, and I’ll tell him to marry you. And then I’m gonna ask Anthony if he wants to marry me!” Kate said her drink spilling onto their shoes, pulling her phone out, tapping away at the screen. Edwina laughed “Katie! You’re getting married to Anthony next week.”  “I miss Anthony! Eddie, I love him Sooo much every time I’m around him I just want to rip his clothes off and-”
“Ooop.” Daphne cut in, “I think we’ve had enough of that, Kate. Though I appreciate the enthusiasm.” Kate’s eyes widened comically, Lucy had drifted back towards the dancefloor.  “Daphne! Oh my god! DAPHNE!” Kate said, wrapping her arms messily around her soon to be sister in law. “I love your brother AND I think I’m gonna MARRY him! And because of that, you should ask the bartender to play ABBA! GIMME! GIMME! GIMME!” Daphne laughed loudly, eyeing Edwina carefully before whispering  “At least she hasn’t stolen anything this time.” as she disappeared to the bar. And Edwina had to admit, Daphne had a point. Kate tugged firmly on her arm!
“Eddie! I love this SONG!” She yelled as the opening bars started. “Ugh! I want Anthony! I wish he was here! Eddie, he’s sooo Handsome sometimes in the middle of the night I have to wake him up because I want to-”
“KATE!” It was like she had summoned him, and honestly thank god, because there were few things Edwina wanted less than to hear about her sister’s nighttime exploits with her future husband. Anthony had burst through the door wearing what appeared to be a shirt bearing the words If Lost please return to Kate Sheffield, and promptly had his arms around Kate, whispering (loudly) in her ear.  “KATE I LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH!”  Gregory had found Lucy, and the two of them appeared to be attempting to recreate the dance from Dirty Dancing (Badly) Colin had joined Eloise and was Currently hoisting Francesca onto his shoulders for a photograph. Benedict appeared to be arguing with Daphne  “Edwina! Edwina Have you met my Fiancée Kate?! Isn’t she just the most beautiful person you’ve ever seen?!” Anthony was saying desperately, his arms still wrapped around Kate, who had her face buried in his neck. Edwina’s heart clenched. Despite the ridiculousness she had to admit it was very sweet that her sister’s soon to be husband was so enamoured with her.  “Yes, Anthony, I’m familiar with Kate. And yes, she’s pretty great!” Edwina said, the corners of her mouth ticking upwards.
“Hey, I LOVE YOU!” Kate yelled at her fiancé grinning, and Anthony’s head spun towards her his eyes wide, “I LOVE YOU TOO!” He yelled back, and then his lips were on Kate’s, his hands wandering a little obscenely.  “Okay. Well.” Edwina said to no one in particular, averting her eyes and joining Benedict and Daphne at the bar.
“Honestly, Ben. What are you doing here?! Could you not handle Anthony for one night?” Daphne tutted, Benedict sighed  “Honestly, I couldn’t take his Where’s Kate,  love Kate, Kate’s so amazing It’s a little exhausting. Besides, look at them,” Benedict said, Gesturing at Gregory who had just caught Lucy in a rather spectacular lift “I’m clearly not in control of the situation.”
The bartender tapped Edwina on the shoulder. “Eddie, I know we know each other, but I have to draw the line at public indecency.” He said gesturing to something over her shoulder. Edwina turned her head and immediately wished she was Anywhere else “No! Kate! Put Anthony’s shirt back on!” Edwina yelled a little startled. Thinking to herself that this was truly the last time she was ever going out with the Bridgertons
It wasn’t.

Guilt
Sam Winchester x Reader (x Dean Winchester, sort of?)
Word Count: 1660 what is wrong with me why can’t I drabble
Warnings: Oh boy this one is naughty. Lust curse and the consent issues that come with the territory. Soulless Sam being kind of a dick, because that’s what he does. Filthy smut, twisty emotions, and some degradation-flavored dirty talk.
A/N: @littlegreenplasticsoldier: “With my remaining 5% battery, may I pls request a Dean/Sam/reader threesome but one of them is remote in some way (left a note/on the phone/gave instructions). Xo”
This is... something like that, anyway. Kinda obsessed with the prompt, kinda want to expand on this, definitely could’ve written another couple thousand words here.
ANYWAY. Enjoy.
Tumblr media
“Yeah, Dean, it’s bad,” Sam said, rolling his eyes. “Like, she’s about to go sit on a fencepost bad.”
I squirmed and fisted my hands in the cheap motel duvet. Sam looked me up and down, smirking. It was the feral, sharp smile that I’d gotten a little too used to since his soul went M.I.A; he looked like he was mentally undressing me, and it usually pissed me off, but in that moment I couldn’t deny how much I liked it.
“Look, dude, I know this is the sort of thing I shouldn’t be comfortable saying, but… there’s only one option here.” He paused again, wrinkling his nose expressively. “Quit the prim and proper shit, Dean, just let me get her off.”
He listened for a minute while I waited, rubbing my thighs together, fighting the animalistic urge to spread my legs and beg. It was only getting worse; I could feel the curse clawing at my insides, winding me up with every labored breath.
“Don’t worry, Dean, I got this,” Sam said into the phone. “You can clutch your pearls later. Yeah, okay. Bye.”
He strode over and passed me the phone before matter-of-factly popping the button of his jeans, and if it was physically possible for me to blush hotter, I would’ve. As it was, my entire body felt like a goddamn wildfire.
“Hey, princess,” Dean said gruffly. I closed my eyes, basking in the warm familiar sound of his voice. “You okay with this? It’s just… I think it’ll be a good six hours, no matter how many fuckin’ traffic laws I break.”
I still had my eyes squeezed shut, but I could feel the mattress dip as Sam sat down on the bed.
“Can’t wait that long,” I whispered. “Can’t… fuck, Dean, I miss you so much.”
“Yeah, you have no idea. This is so fuckin’...” He huffed out a breath.
“Can you just… can you just talk to me for a minute?” I asked.
I tried to wedge the cell phone between my shoulder and my ear as I fumbled with the button of my jeans. I heard a low chuckle and when I opened my eyes Sam was staring down at me, amused and unapologetic and totally naked. He batted my hands away and got my zipper down, and I closed my eyes again, listening to the staticky rush of Dean’s sigh, trying not to think about who was pulling my jeans off and settling between my legs. I still had my t-shirt on, and it felt like thick itchy wool on my oversensitized skin, but I couldn’t stand the idea of being stripped bare.
“You gonna imagine it’s me?” Dean asked, low and growly and possessive.
“Y — yeah.” I made a squeaky, strangled noise as Sam slid two fingers up into me without warning, but then I groaned at the tingling full-body shiver of relief, my voice loud and obscene before I bit down on the fleshy part of my palm in an effort to hold back.
Sam started fucking me lazily with his fingers, thumb rubbing my clit every time he buried them in me, and I was trembling already, rocking my hips, trying to hold back a slutty moan.
“You’re close, aren’t you?” Dean said roughly.
“Yeah,” I whined, arching my back and seeing sparks behind my eyelids. “I — nnnnnnhhhh, fuck, Dean, I — I’m so close, this is crazy, I want — I wish it was you. I’m sorry, I can’t — can’t help it.”
“Not your fault. Do whatever you gotta do, okay?”
“‘Kay,” I breathed.
“‘You gonna come for me? Let me hear you.”
For a second I hovered on the brink, trembling and straining.
Then I felt Sam shift, his tongue a soft smooth flicker as it curled between his fingers to taste me. I bit my lip so hard that tears stung my eyes.
“You’re dripping all over the sheets,” Sam said, so quiet that I was sure Dean wouldn’t be able to hear it over my harsh breathing. “Making such a mess… you’ll be a mess, too, by the time I’m done with you.”
I groaned and arched up, coming with the sort of blackout intensity that felt like a free-fall, squeezing around Sam’s fingers over and over.
There was a moment of breathtaking relief, as it started to fade. For a split-second I thought that was it; maybe that was enough. Then Sam’s calloused fingers dragged against something hot-sweet-sharp inside me, and that feverish desire was sparking up again, rising fast. I collected myself just enough to bring the phone to my ear.
“I’m gonna hit the road,” Dean was saying, and I knew he was trying to sound nonchalant, but his voice was grim and unhappy. “I’ll be there as soon as I can, okay? Love you.”
“Love you, Dean,” I breathed.
“Do what you need to do,” he echoed.
I hung up, tossing the phone away like it had burned me, and let out a frustrated groan. Sam pulled away so that I could sit up and wrestle with my shirt. I felt so fucking empty, and the need to be touched was immediate and overwhelming.
“Jesus,” Sam muttered. “This is gonna be a thing for the two of you, huh?”
I let out a strangled laugh, struggling with my bra. “You’re his brother. You don’t think this is a little fucked-up?”
“Not really,” he said casually. As soon as I was naked he was crawling up my body, slinking gracefully, caging me in with all that lithe rippling muscle and smooth skin, and for a moment I just stared up at him, incapable of logic or guilt or anything other than want. He hovered over me, smirking.
“You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?” I accused, clenching around nothing and trying not to look down his body.
“I’ve wanted to fuck you since I met you,” he said bluntly. “Are you really going to pretend you haven’t imagined it?”
I shook my head stubbornly. “I’m in love with Dean.”
“Didn’t say you weren’t,” he retorted.
My heart was racing. Holding eye contact felt like having my finger in an electrical socket. “God, you can’t be — you’re not Sam. You’re not.”
He rolled his eyes. “If that’s what you want to tell yourself.”
“Sam wouldn’t —” I choked out, but I couldn’t take it and I couldn’t lie any more. I couldn’t hold on to coherent thought with the desperate roaring heat under my skin, like some fierce primal scream was drowning out everything else in my head.
I grabbed at his shoulders, dragging him down against me and hooking my legs around his waist, trying to rub myself against him. He chuckled and rolled his hips, letting me feel the thick length of his cock where it was trapped against my lower belly, and I whined shamelessly, feeling like I could come if he so much as brushed against my clit the right way.
“If you’re so sure I’m not Sam, then what’s the problem?” he pointed out calmly. “One less thing to get hung up on, if I’m not his brother.”
And I was pretty sure there was a problem with that logic, because I shouldn’t be this wet and eager for anyone else, but I was done arguing.
“Fuck me,” I snapped. “C’mon, just — I can’t, feel like I’m losing my fucking mind, just —” I reached down between us, shaky and uncoordinated, trying to get him inside me without putting any space between our bodies.
He didn’t bother teasing anymore, just lined up, rubbing the head of his cock against my slick cunt, pressing in and sinking down. The sharp painful stretch of it registered along with the too-full toe-curling pleasure, splitting me open inch by inch until I wasn’t sure I could take any more. Then he snapped his hips forward the last inch, burying himself in me completely with this grinding, twisting thrust, too fucking much.
“This isn’t how Dean fucks you, is it?” he asked, right up against my ear, hips circling, and for a moment the words didn’t make sense.
I opened my mouth to tell him to stop talking, dimly aware that the mention of his brother should’ve made me uncomfortable, but instead what came out was a needy, blissed-out moan.
“Does that feel good?”
“Yeah,” I gasped.
“So stop wasting time thinking about Dean,” Sam snarled.
“Don’t.”
“Best thing about not having a soul? Not wasting time feeling guilty for taking what I want.” He punctuated the last word with a vicious twist of his hips, and electricity lanced up my spine. “Right now you just want someone to hold you down and fuck you until you can’t take it any more. You want it rough and hard and fucking filthy, and you’re glad Dean isn’t here to see you begging like a whore… aren’t you?”
“Yes.”
“You’re glad it’s me.”
I knew it was fucked up and twisted and humiliating. I should’ve denied it.
“Am I wrong?” he growled. “Look at me.”
I tried to focus through the sting of sweat and the blurry haze of endorphins. His lip curled, contemptuous, and there was a hard flinty glitter in his eyes, but he still looked so much like Sam that I forgot how to breathe. Sizzling pressure was rising in my core, building rapidly. I couldn’t think straight.
“You’re… you’re not wrong,” I stammered. “Please. Please don’t stop. Feels so good, just — Sam.” I caught a glimpse of his fierce, satisfied smile.
“Are you going to waste time feeling guilty?” he murmured, voice cracking. “Or are you going to take what you want?”
Enough.
I let out a low, desperate groan before surging up to kiss him, and he bit my lip so hard I tasted blood.
“You know what I want,” I whispered. “Shut the fuck up and give it to me.”
I might not ever get the chance to do this again, after all. Might as well enjoy it while I could.

Hi! Prompt based on Naniya27 art. What if Xie er grew up together with wkx and gx in ghost valley? His reaction on meeting ZZS as brother in law to be. Thanks
I guess people picked up on how eggs over easy I am for writing ficlets and drabbles based on @naniya27 ‘s art 😂 But in the future, I would kindly like to request that people who have similar prompts add a link to which art piece they are referring to. Like this, I still have something to work with. Thanks 🙏🏼
Ah Xiang twists her arm away the moment Xie-ge reaches for her. Glaring, she sticks her tongue out at him, only for the pale faced beauty to tsk and grip her wrist.
“Who is that man with Master? Why is he here? How did you guys meet? What is he doing here? What happened—“
“Aiyah, aiyah! Xie-ge, my brain is about to burst with your questions!” Ah Xiang whines. Pointing her finger at the shore where Master, the stranger and the child travelling with him are gathered around a fire, she explains before he can interject. “That is Master’s new toy, Zhou Xu. He is some sick dude the Master keeps insisting that is some peerless beauty. That kid is from the Mirror Lake Sect. Yeah, that same one that Master went to check out.”
“So,” Xie-ge frowns, cocking his head. “He’s not...”
“Not?” Ah Xiang parrots, before realisation dawns on her. Pulling her wrist out of his hold, she delivers two decisive slaps to his upper arm while he hisses at the pain and tries to shy away. “It would be better if he could just sleep with this Sick Dude and get it over with but Master keeps insisting on sticking with him and seeing the kid to safety! I don’t know why but I think Master has some special interest in this guy.”
Xie-ge doesn’t reply and one look at his face tells Ah Xiang all she needs to know. He’s got that ‘I’m going to break them up’ glint in his eyes that she is all too familiar with. Growing up, it had been Master, Xie-ge and herself in the Ghost Valley, and Master had been Father and Mother and Brother to them both. Naturally, now that they were older, this familial affection they share has leant itself to several occasions where parties invested in the Master’s attentions had found themselves scared into leaving the entire region.
Grumbling quietly to herself, she mentally prepares herself for trouble.

Six Pomegranate Seeds
Summary: Six seeds for six months, the entire fruit for eternity. Idia surrenders himself to you.
Tags: Yandere Reader, Idia is a frog cooked in the tepid waters of love, implied arranged marriage
Rated: E for explicit description of riding Idia’s wonderful dick.
A/N: wrote this drabble because I am running away from Law School
--
“The common story goes like this,” You began as your fingers slowly unzipped his hoodie “The God of the Underworld found the Goddess of Spring and fell in love with her at first sight--”
Idia flinched as your fingers went underneath his shirt and teasingly made its way up to his chest, his shirt riding up as he bit back a moan.
“Then he kidnapped her and the world fell into Chaos, but did you know that the oldest story about it goes the other way around?” You smiled at him, it was the same smile you gave him everyday and yet at this moment Idia could not help but feel his fear and excitement mix together.
“Ne, Idia-chan...” You called out softly, lips grazing his adam’s apple as you rubbed against his erection, “Did you know the truth was that the Goddess of Spring saw the God of the Underworld in his home, she walked into his den and willingly stayed.”
“Why?” Idia didn’t know what exactly he was asking about but your mouth was already on his and he could only surrender to your masterful tongue and let himself drown on the taste of you and the familiar and distinct flavor of the Pomegranate grown on the Isle of Lamentation.
When you knew that Idia had swallowed all the seeds in your mouth you kissed him deeply one last time before stopping, saliva trailing from your lips and connecting to his. You could not help but rubbed his erection harder as you observed his erotic look.
“I don’t know, I’ve never asked my aunt” You answered, “But that’s not really what you want to know right? Why you. That’s what you really want to know.”
And Idia could only shut his eyes as he felt the cold air greet his hard dick and the feel of your hands firmly gripping it.
“Nnggggg”
You teased his tip and continued talking, never taking your eyes off him even once, “I don’t know why I chose you except that from the moment I saw you back in the ceremony I knew you were the one.”
“Ne, Idia-chan, do you hate me now? After all aren’t I forcing you a little bit? Ah, but then again your Shroud family and mine have been entangled for generations now...”
“Pl-ease...”Idia panted as he bucked into your hand as you slowly raised yourself up and inserted his dick into your hole, “!!!!Tight!”
“Haaah~!Idia-chan tell me do you hate it? do you hate me even if I’m giving you so much pleasure right now?” You began to slowly move up and down his dick, finding the rhythm that Idia liked.
Idia could only moan and grip your hips tightly, guiding you to his preference before he flipped you over and began thrusting into you hard and fast, his hands unbuttoning your shirt as you moaned and clenched. His name fell from your lips like a prayer, begging him for more and more until you came first. It didn’t stop him from thrusting and instead you could feel him harden even more and soon you felt warmth spread inside your hole.
You lay limp on his bed, savoring the feeling of his dick inside you while his cum slowly dripped out of your hole.
“I don’t hate you...after all... Fuku ryōchō-san weren’t you the one that told me...I can turn this curse into a blessing?”
It was the first time you ever heard Idia speak clearly and calmly, you could not help but be surprised at this change.
“Idia-chan?”
He pulled out of your only to roughly thrust into you again, his whole countenance has changed. It was as if you were seeing the Idia Shroud that was the Heir, not your cute and shy dorm leader who was easily flustered by your flirtations.
You moaned in surprise as he hit your spot.
“Fuku ryōchō-san, please don’t regret binding yourself to this cursed Shroud Family.”
You could only answer with your moans as Idia fucked you over and over again, filling you with his cum that overflowed and as the night wore on you found yourself completely naked and covered with his cum while your skin was littered with his love bites.
You watched him from his bed, your heart warmed at his gesture of covering you up in his blanket even if he did take liberties (which you didn’t mind and led to another round) as he cleaned you up. Idia turned and found himself blushing and stammering at your fond look.
One that he now knew was born of sincere affection and adoration for him.
“Was I-I...good?”
“Un....Idia-chan,” Your hand reached out for him and he obliged, letting his face be caressed by your soft and gentle hands “You can’t run away anymore.”
Idia thought about his family’s curse. How his Father had gotten the attention of a demi-goddess. How they were cursed to never escape from being loved by the Pantheon. And then, he thought of you, who was a God of their own right.
Remembered how you had always been with him every step of the way, how you had helped with Ortho. The way you always ensured things would go his way.
“Six seeds for six months, the entire fruit for eternity.”

Of Happiness and Failures -- Part 2 -- Lost and Found
Another Sastiel drabble I’ve had mulling over in my head for a while. So I decided, why not add to the first part and kind of make this a Sastiel Chronicles of drabbles and oneshots of just whatever kind of pops into my head.
It had been 6 months since the loss of Dean and Sam could acknowledge to himself that he wasn’t coping well. He was trying, he was trying to live the life Dean told him to live, to live the life he himself had always wanted for himself. But somehow it all felt empty knowing Dean wasn’t around. As a teenager, he had always wanted the normal “apple pie life” -- a partner, two kids, a steady, respectable job, a house in suburbia, family meals, family game night every Thursday, yell at his son to get off the video games, threatening his daughter’s new boyfriend to treat her with respect -- but while having that fantasy, there was always a part of him that felt living this life that Dean and their father had been very vocal about that wasn’t possible, he felt like he could live out this fantasy and be alright as long as Dean was living in this world. Sure, Dean might disown him for running to this life, Dean may never be a part of this life Sam wanted, but Sam was okay with that, he was content with the feeling of just knowing Dean was out there somewhere. Now, the fantasy Sam had always dreamed of felt wrong to him...because he knew Dean wasn’t there.
Dean, you jerk. That life you wanted me to live, it means nothing to me if you’re still now here, Sam thought to himself miserably. Sam had tried a few half-hearted attempts at dating in the past few months but it was just that, half-hearted. Nothing felt right to him anymore. Not even hunting felt right anymore. As much as he despised the life when he was younger, he couldn’t deny that there was a focus to it, something about it centered him. When he did go on hunts and he saved the kids, saved the dame and damsels in distress, he used to feel better, that everything going wrong in his life, it felt like it could be okay again. Now, he saves who he can save and while he’s glad he was able to help, even hunting doesn’t feel right to him anymore. Sam finds appreciation in doing hunts but also no longer feels that content center and focus he used to feel. He hunts the things, he saves the people, but it no longer feels like the family business. There’s just emptiness.
And when he thinks about how empty he is, his mind goes to a place it really doesn’t want to go. It goes to Cas, to the loss of Cas. To the guilt of letting Cas go and not being able to bring him back. And thinking about Cas now, Sam decides for the first time to pray to Cas. He’d always thought about it but he was afraid to do it. He was afraid to be left with the knowledge of knowing there was no one on the other end that would hear him. But right in this moment, Sam feels at the darkest and just needs to do something familiar, something that always felt reassuring to him, even if it will inevitably break his heart.
C-Cas? Castiel? Cas, are you there? I don’t know if you can hear me wherever you are. I doubt the Empty lets you receive phone calls. Or maybe Jack was able to save you? That might be too much to hope for. Speaking of which, you’d be so proud of Jack. He saved the world, just like you always believed he would. If Jack did save you, I’m sure you have lots of things to do, far more important things than listening to the prayers of a broken Winchester. I mean, the last time we were in this situation, I was lost with no soul and you were...somewhere, I prayed to you and you didn’t answer I remember being so irritated with you but now, with all of this time we’ve spent together, I think I understand why you didn’t answer. It wasn’t because you were busy, it was because you didn’t feel like I or Dean truly needed you at that point. And it’s always been like that, hasn’t it? You always place your worth and value on if you’re needed. But I’m telling you this right now, Cas. I’m not praying to you because I need you. I’m praying to you because I miss home and you were a part of that home and I want to see home again. I want to see you again. I don’t know why I’m doing this, you probably can’t hear me anyway. But if there’s a chance you can, just know that when I think of home, you were a part of it and no matter what you may have thought, you weren’t a part of it because I needed you there, you were a part of it because I wanted you there. And I just wish I could have that right now --
“Hello, Sam.” Sam couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Was he dreaming? Hallucinating? His last hunt was with a djinn, maybe it didn’t go as well as he thought it did. Sam turned around and right before his eyes, there was that familiar trench coat cloaking an individual with blue eyes and dark hair and suddenly Sam didn’t care if this was a djinn dream, he’d happily die at the mercy of this hallucination if it meant he could see Cas one last time. Sam wasted no time, he ran up to Cas, this piece of his home that he’s at last found again and he hugs Castiel for all he’s worth. “Cas, I don’t care if this isn’t real, it’s so god damn good to see you again.”
Cas looks at him with that familiar perplexed expression he always carried when trying to figure out human emotions. And then he smiles at Sam. “I missed you too.”
“How long have you been back?” Sam asks, almost afraid to hear the answer.
“Since Jack defeated Chuck. He brought me back from the Empty.” Cas pauses before continuing, “I am sorry I didn’t come to you or to Dean when I was brought back. I have no excuse. I could say I was working to fix heaven but the truth was that I was scared. I honestly didn’t know how to face you. We parted ways rather awkwardly.”
“It doesn’t matter, Cas. I’m just glad to know you’re still you and you’re still here. I’ve been so lost lately, Dean’s death, your disappearance, it was destroying me. I didn’t know what to do with myself. Even though you’re here, I still don’t know what to do with myself.”
“Yes, I know about Dean, if it consoles you, he is in heaven and he is content and happy and at peace. You say you’re lost? Can I help in some way? Not that I feel like you need me to or anything. I want to help you, Sam Winchester.”
Sam laughs under his breath, “you heard the prayer didn’t you?”
“It was a rather potent beacon of yearning.”
As they walk to the kitchen, “So, do you want anything? A beer, maybe,?” Sam asks. Jack knows, Cas probably deserves one. Cas responds, “Actually, a PB&J sandwich sounds good right about now.”
Sam looks back to Cas with a smile, “are you sure? You said you could no longer enjoy those.” Cas looks at Sam with a whimsical expression, “my time with the Empty, as brief as it may have been, made me realize some things.” Just because all I can taste are molecules, doesn’t mean I still can’t enjoy it. And while I was in the Empty, I found I deeply regretted not having a PB&J sandwich before I was taken.”
“Alright then, PB&J it is”. Sam starts taking out the necessary tools to make this famed sandwich that left such a mark on Cas. And as they sit down at the table, Cas with his PB&J and Sam with a beer, Cas gets right down to it. “Sam, why are you feeling lost? You defeated Chuck, and even though Dean isn’t here, nothing is stopping you now from truly living, so why aren’t you?”.
“I don’t even really know. I’ve long since moved past the notion that I’d be able to have the “apple pie life.” And for  long while now, I’ve always been content with just being a hunter. But since Dean’s death, I don’t feel that contentness anymore. It just doesn’t feel right anymore and I don’t get it. I still enjoy helping people but there’s a spark that just isn’t there anymore.”
“If I may, Sam, there’s a reason I’ve always felt a kindred spirit with you. At first, I thought it had to do with empathizing with someone who always wants to do the right thing even if it goes awfully wrong as we both have done. But now, I think I realize what we share in our kindred spirits. Not our mess-ups, not our want to do good deeds. This may jsut be a shot in the dark, but it’s no surprise that with Dean no longer with you, you don’t feel passion towards hunting. That was always Dean’s passion, you went along with it because you loved Dean and you wanted to be with him. But even for you, just helping people is not enough for you. Sam, why did you want to become a lawyer? If you simply wanted to help people, there so many careers you could have chosen from. What makes us kindred spirits is not our desire to want to help, its our desire to make things right. As a lawyer, you could not only help people, but bring people closure and I think that’s where your true calling lies.”
Sam let out a breath and then spoke, “So, you think I should become a lawyer? Go back to law school?”
“I’m not telling you to do anything. I’m just making observations and I hope that can help you in what you decide to do next.” Cas gets up from the table, “Thanks for the sandwich, it really was enjoyable and I am so happy to see you again but-”
“You have to leave” Sam finished for Cas, “I get it. You and Jack are creating a new heaven. And go do that. Make a heaven where Dean can be truly at peace, he deserves it. And thank you, I don’t know know what I’m going to do yet but you gave me things to think about and I think with that knowledge, I think I can find myself again. And don’t be a stranger.”
“Don’t worry, Sam, I won’t ever be a stranger again, because you’re my home too.” And with that, Cas disappeared and for the first time in a long time, Sam felt something bright, he felt hope. He doesn’t know what he’s going to do with this hope, but it’s there and he’s never going to let go of it again.

150: “I didn’t know I was allergic to coconut oil until I went to this one strip club and now look at me - in the emergency room of a hospital on the night of my bachelor/bachelorette party" Koushiro and Jou and no, I am not sorry
THIS WAS THE WEIRDEST PROMPT EVER LOL. I was a little conflicted between making it serious or comedy, but well, this came out.
As a note, this would be the prequel to this prompt here  :)  All of my drabbles happen in the same universe, so I follow my headcanons lol.
SEND ME ASK & MASTER POST
I didn’t know I was allergic to coconut oil until I went to this one strip club and now look at me: in the ER of a hospital on the night of my Bachelor party
“Doctors always think anybody doing something they aren't is a quack; also they think all patients are idiots.”
― Flannery O'Connor
“Ah...you’re a blessing of the gods, Dr. Kido. If you ever feel lonely, don’t hesitate to call me. I am always free.”
Jou smiled nervously as old grandma Fujita walked out of his examination room giving him a wink. A cold shudder ran down his spine, but he kept his professionalism and waved the old woman goodbye for the tenth time that week.
“Someone is popular” Hikari chuckled, covering her laughter with her hand.
“I prefer not to talk about it.” he replied, hiding his face behind his hand, in shame “Who’s next?”
“Mrs. Itou…” Hikari smirked “again…”
“What? What now?”
“She says her stomach hurts…” Hikari replied, checking the papers in her clipboard “She will run out of diseases...eventually.”
Jou clicked his tongue and pinched the bridge of his nose in disapproval. The emergency room was a serious place; Many lives were at stake and it was not a place for a group of older women with plenty of time to come and bother medical personnel with imaginary illnesses. Of course, Jou would never say anything, he was a gentleman and respectful of his elders,so he just examined the women and repeated that there was nothing wrong with them and sent them home with some vitamins.
“Should I call her in?”
Jou was about to respond when familiar screams made both Hikari and Jou's eyes widen. The pair rushed out of the office and to their surprise several familiar faces were in the middle of the room making a stir, while some of the other nurses tried to understand what was happening.
“Kidooo, find Dr. Kido!!! Or ….”Taichi screamed in the room.
“Taichi-san...lower your voice, Jou-san is probably busy!” Takeru said, pulling his arm and giving the nurse that attended them an apologetic smile.
“Then bring out my sister…” Taichi continued “My sister...do you know her?”
“Your...sister, sir?” the nurse asked, a little scared.
“Yeah! My sister...baby sister. She married this...guy!” Taichi said, catching Takeru under his arm “Lucky boy this one, haha…”
“Onichan!” Hikari said, horrified. She rushed into the scene, apologized to the nurses and told them that she would take care of this.
As Hikari was busy calming down the rest of the nurses, Jou approached the group and took a look.
As Hikari tried to explain the situation and apologized for her brother's erratic behavior to the other nurses, Jou approached the group and looked around. Taichi was clearly intoxicated, judging by his goofy grin.
" You better have an explanation for this…” Jou said sternly “This IS a hospital.”
“Yeah, yeah…” Takeru apologised trying to pull away from Taichi’s uncomfortable hug “We do have a reason...for...Taichi-san, please stop it…”
“Good heaven” Jou said, pressing his temple “What did I say about drinking too much today?”
“JOOOUUUUU:...”Taichi said, smiling like an idiot.” Just the man I wanted to see. My good old friend! He’s my childhood friend! Did you all know that? He was a skittish neurotic boy...but now Look at him! A full on Doctor! I am SO proud of you my friend!”
He released Takeru and turned to Jou in a clumsy attempt to hug him, but this was not the first time that Jou had had to deal with a very drunk Taichi, so the doctor evaded him and looked at Takeru -who was, clearly, the sober one - asking for an explanation.
“Long story short…”Takeru sighed “something...bad happened in Koushiro’s party.”
“Ah...I knew it….” Jou groaned “That is why I said you should have done it on the day I could actually go!”
Jou made his way to a private room, where the rest of the group was supposed to be. Hikari had already gone ahead of him, and the doctor found her hovering over someone on the bed. Someone that was struggling to get up while making unintedibble sounds.  When Jou approached the bed, he was shocked to see that it was Koushiro.
His friend showed the worst case of swelling that Jou had seen in his entire medical career so far and judging by Hikari's horrified look, the girl shared his thoughts. The boy was unrecognizable and judging by his incoherent and unintelligible mumbling, he -like Taichi- was awfully drunk.  Hikari and Jou managed to push him back down and keep him from moving, so that Jou could actually examine him to understand what had happened to his friend.
Ignoring the fact that he was treating a friend, Jou began to look at Koushiro with a clinical eye and began to list up  his physical symptoms: swelling around the eyes, face, mouth and possibly other areas of the body covered by the clothes; the eyes were reddened , there were rashes and dermatitis on the arms, legs and necks; judging by his difficult breathing, there was possibly inflammation of the airways and his heart rhythm was abnormally fast . Koushiro was conscious, but it was clear that he was confused. Whether this was a symptom of what was happening to him, or simply because he had drunk too much, they would only know it with a toxicological examination.
“Pressure?” Jou said, checking on the boy's eyes.
“90/ 60…” Hikari said, scribbling in the clipboard “ A little too low. Saturation level is at 93…”
“Mild hypoxia…” Jou said “Koushiro...Koushiro...can you hear me?”
Koushiro didn’t answer, or more accurately he couldn’t. He had tried to speak, but the swelling was so severe that he couldn’t that he couldn’t articulate a word.
“Koushiro, if you can hear me blink twice.”  the boy blinked “Good, now...blink twice for yes and once for no, okay?”
Koushiro blinked twice.
“Are you in pain?”
Two blinks.
“Does your chest hurt and is it difficult to breathe?”
Two blinks.
“Does anything else hurt?”
Another two winks.
“Your stomach?”
Once again two blinks.
The conversation continued like this for  some minutes, while Hikari took note..
“His airways are swollen, he still can breathe, but until we find out what’s causing this, we need to avoid further sweelling.  Give him 50 mg of prednisolone on an IV with 50mg of tramadol for the pain. Keep an eye on him. I want a  full blood scan and thoracic plaque. I want to see whether there’s pleural effusion or not. Ask for a toxicology test. I want to know what’s running in his system...”
“Yes, doctor. What are you going to do  in the meantime?”
“Try to get the story about what on earth happened to see where this problem came out from...”
“Well, that’s going to be a challenge with how drunk my brother is.” Hikari said, looking at Taichi, who was sitting in a corner singing a foolish and very out of tone song as Takeru tried to keep him still.
“Well lucky for me, your husband has a knack for storytelling.” Jou gave her a meaningful look and Hikari chuckled.
Takeru was having troubles trying to keep his brother-in-law from making a fuss. Taichi was the kind of person who would turn into a childish and silly kid whenever he was drunk, and even though it was funny at first, it became very tiring later on.
“Alright, that’s enough...Taichi-san Stop it!” Takeru growled sternly.
Taichi’s only response was a pout.  He then began to wave his arms in a bvery childish manner.
“Takeruuuu….meanieeeeee….you don’t treat your awesome….greatest brother-in-law in the world like thiiiiis….”
“Yeah...well, you’re acting more like a naughty kid than my “awesome” brother-in-law, though…” Takeru sighed “Stop moving already! And keep your voice low...this is a hospital.”
Taichi pouted again and looked at Takeru with a scolded kid look. He stuck out his tongue at him with Hmph” and turned away, making Takuro sigh.
“I don’t know if I should laugh or be concerned that your first parenting experience is taking care of your intoxicated brother-in-law, Takeru.”
Takeru laughed and rolled his eyes.
“I hope for my mind health’s sake, that I never get kids as feisty as Taichi-san…”
“With your genes and Hikari’s...I think the chances are low. I can’t speak of the potential nephews however” Jou nodded, and Takeru wasn’t sure whether it was a joke or not, since Jou had kept a serious look. “ Where’s Yamato?”
“Well, after trying to kiss his way all over the club, he was knocked out. He must be still sleeping in the car. Don’t worry, Gabumon and patamon are with him. Daisuke and the others must still be in the party, I’m not even sure if they noticed us leaving.”
“Right.” Jou said with a sighe “Ok, so...care to tell me the story?”
Takeru gave him an ironic look. A story? He could write a full short novel with the events from that day, but he took a deep breathe and began telling Jou all the things that had transceded that night.
“Well, it was Daisuke’s idea and well, my brother and Taichi were foolish enough to follow it, I guess? Honestly, I just found out today when I arrived.” he explained “Somehow they thought that it would be a pity that Koushiro didn’t experience a little bit of a “bachelor’s life” before tying the knot and well...they dragged us to this...night club.”
A night club! Jou thought, horrified. Those were the kind of silly things that happened when he wasn’t there to keep an eye on those kids. That was the worst possible place to take a man days before his wedding, then again, the fact that this was Daisuke’s idea shouldn’t have surprised him.  That kid had been watching too many american movies.
“Alright...I need to know everything,” Jou sighed, taking out his pen “Everything that Koushiro did. What did he drink, eat, touch...all of it.”
“Ehr...sure…” Takeru said, trying to recall all the things that had happened earlier. It was hard since what had not happened that day.
Daisuke’s plan had totally taken Koushiro by surprise.  He had expected a causal night on some local bar drinking a couple beers with friends and telling stupid stories, before going home and sleeping until the next day. The computer genius was speechless when his friends had pulled him into this exotic night club in which, apparently, women danced and took off their clothes as they did. He didn’t even know those places existed in Japan.
The night had started calm, all things considered. Koushiro was visibly feeling awkward and Takeru couldn’t blame him. Supposedly, Takeru was the one famous for his suave style and his ease dealing with girls, but even he had to admit, the whole place intimidated him.
Taichi and Yamato had been awkward at first too, but after several drinks they began to loosen up and their usual drunkish traits began to surface. Half an hour and many drinks later, all of his friends were pretty much drunk and  even Koushiro was much more relaxed.  Then it happened.  Daisuke had reserved some popular dancers or whatsoever to "assist" at his friend's bachelor party. The girls, who Takeru made sure to describe as absolutely not his type, just in case Jou decided to share the tale with Hikari, had given Koushiro a very...intense and provocative lap dance. Koushiro was so shocked that he had fainted on the chair. The pattern was repeated several times during the evening: a random dancer would come, give the bachelor a lap dance, Koushiro would faint, then wake up to drink another cup of liquor, and it would start all over again.
“And you were the only one actually sober?”  Jou asked.
“I did have a beer…” Takeru admitted “but hey I am married, okay? Daisuke kept teasing me for being the grumpy married guy of the party whenever I said that I thought it was a bad idea. ”
“GRUMPY OLD MAN...hahaha…” Taichi laughed loudly pulling Takeru’s shirt. He slapped the older boy’s hand and glared.
“Taichi-san ...quiet!”
“Well, at least someone had a cool head there. Embarrasing enough, it was the youngest of the group.” Jou said, rolling his eyes  and looking at Taichi disapprovingly “alright, lap dancing aside. What did Koushiro eat?”
“I think he had some of those peanuts on the table and some chips and a sandwich.”
“He ate those damn peanuts?” Jou said horrified “Do you have any idea of the sort of things you can find in those plates? Do you have any idea of how many people touch those things without washing their hands?”
“Believe me, I know…” Takeru sighed. His wife wouldn’t let him forget it whenever he went out for a drink with the guys “but I think Koushiro has his mind somewhere else to actually think of that detail. Do you think it caused this?”
“Well, no...that was just an outburst of indignation. Continue….”
“He had several beers, then Daisuke suggested moving to stronger drinks. I think he had several margaritas and cocktails. Other than that...it was all good.”
“Any fruit in those cocktails, aside the lemons?”
“No, I don’t think so…” Takeru said “Why?”
“Just checking.” Jou said “Was he okay before...the party?”
“Yeah, he was fine. He was talking with Mimi before we left his office.”
“So when did he begin to feel sick?”
“Eh...I’m not sure. After the twelfth lap dance maybe?”
“ Number twelve smelled niiiicce. Hawaian lotion smelled so good… made me want caaaaandy…” Taichi giggled “remember that coco candy? Hehehe…”
The two men ignored Taichi’s incoherent comments and continued speaking. Takeru would have laughed if the situation wasn’t so serious right now.
“So he didn’t eat or drink anything unusual?”
“Not that I noticed…”
“Coco….Coco….cococoooo” Taichi sang sillily.
Jou ignored him and looked at the notes he had in his clipboard.
“Huh...I guess I’ll need those results before I can do anything. This doesn’t tell me much...”
The good news was that the medication was helping Koushiro a little. The swelling was still there,  but it had gone down a little and he wasn’t in pain. He still couldn’t move, but it seemed to be a lot more conscious compared to how he had arrived.  About one hour later, Hikari came into the room with the lab results and Jou looked through the papers carefully.
“Eosinophils count is high…” he said “he’s pretty intoxicated, however, it shouldn’t be enough to altere his white cell count. Aside from the drugs we gave him, he’s clean...so it wasn’t a case of accidental drugging or poisoning. Inflammatory indicators are high, as expected and no pleural effusion. Good. Let's keep on with the prednisone and the tramadol until we find out what's the cause. At least we know it is not Lupus… ' Jou said.
Hikari chuckled.
“Quating Dr. House there?”
“Just to break the tension” Jou smiled with a shrug " let's monitore these indicators just in case. I want to make a scrap of his rash to see what we find there."
"Full test?" Hikari asked.
Jou nodded and Hikari did as she was told. Considering how his friend had come in earlier, Koushiro was evolving really well. The steroids were helping with the inflammation and that was letting him breathe better. The question, now, was: what had caused it?
"You sure had a hell of the night, huh Koushiro?" Jou said with a raised eyebrow.
Two blinks and a pathetic look. Jou looked at him sympathetically , he was going to develop a trauma after tonight, that's for sure and he would have to thank Daisuke and his friends for it.
The results came in later that night. The blood test seemed better, so they continued with the treatment as it was. The skin scraping had come negative for fungi, parasites and bacteria. However the note from the analyst caught his attention. It read:  presence of oily substance. It was identified as vegetable oil, most likely coconut.
Coconut?
Suddenly, some of the  things he had heard that night  began to click. Taichi had sillily said something about someone smelling like a Hawaiian lotion that reminded him of the coconut sweets he liked. Now, the pathologist said there was coconut oil on the samples. It was as if a light bulb had been lit in his head and the answer became clear.
Koushiro had had a bad allergic reaction to coconut oil. Coconut allergy was rare, but the chances were high, since he was allergic to walnuts and cross reaction with coconut were common. An hypersensibility reaction would explain the result of  eosinophils  in his blood test. His symptoms also pointed to a severe allergic reaction. How had he not seen it earlier?
Poor Koushiro. Ending up in a hospital on his bachelor party night, just because one girl had danced on his lap after a skin treatment with coconut oil. He'd have to message Mimi and tell her to get rid of all her coconut skin products, or she would get a not very nice surprise on their wedding night.
The whole thing was so ridiculous that Jou burst into a fit of laughter, just when Hikari stepped in to the office. The girl stared at him dumbfounded and the older man tried to compose himself, but looking at his friend’s face, he knew he'd already failed poorly.
"Y-Yeah?" he said, smiling .
"Mimi is in the hall demanding to know what happened to her fiancé…" Hikari said shyly "I wasn't sure what to say…"
"Right.” Now he had another problem. A feisty Mimi who wouldn’t be too happy about the way her fiancé had decided to spend his bachelor party “Leave it to me."
“ Good luck...she’s angry.”
Jou gave her an amused look as he fixed his doctor’s coat and stepped out of the office. This was probably the strangest night he’d ever had in the ER, but one way or another, he had saved his friend, and that, was enough to make him proud, even if it had only been a silly allergic reaction to coconut oil.

Drabble: Weighing Options (baon)
Summary: Stretch knew where he was when he woke up, most of the time. It was a thing.

Notes: I am behind in replying to comments, I know, and I am sooo tired today, but it's been a few days since I had something for these boys and I missed them. So have a drabble. ^_^
part of the ‘by any other name’ series.

or
Read it here!
~~*~~
When Stretch first woke up, he wasn’t exactly sure where he was. That wasn’t really as alarming to him as it might be to someone else. Stretch was pretty used to falling asleep in weird places, it was a thing, it happened. What could he say, he was a tired kind of guy, and anyone who hasn’t fallen asleep on top of a refrigerator at some point probably wasn’t living their fullest life, right?
Anyway, waking up someplace weird, yeah, been there, bought the collectible color-changing coffee mug. That was all to the good.
Waking up feeling like he was being squished, now, that was a new thing.
He wasn’t exactly a detective, but a guy didn’t need to see more than one episode of Law and Order to figure out that when you recognized the fabric that was two inches from your nasal aperture, it meant you were face-down on your own sofa.
That was a little good news, at least; waking up places that were not in his own house was usually when the various problems began.
But what the hell was on him…?
It took more effort than he liked to use in one go, but Stretch managed to push up enough to make the weight on his back shift, which it did, somewhat loudly and grumpily, and also happily familiar. Well. Sort of happily.
Okay, so at some point while they were between Netflix episodes, Edge had ended up sprawled on top of him and fallen asleep there. The idea of it was fucking precious and what Stretch wouldn’t have given for a picture of him curled up on him. If Stretch were allowed to be a betting man (and he wasn’t, damn but he still missed that Golden Girls t-shirt, and Red was an asshole to show off wearing it all the time) he’d lay heavy odds on the dampness at his shoulder being from Edge drooling on him.
Maybe he could get Red to give him a screen capture from whatever spy thingie he probably had squirreled away somewhere in their living room.
But yeah, the idea was precious. The execution on the other hand…it wasn’t bad, exactly, but Edge was kind of heavy and bony and uncomfortable. Something was poking him in the middle of his spine, and it felt a hell of a lot more like a belt buckle than Edge being happy to see him.
It was also kind of ungodly hot, like, ‘pits of the damned’ hot. All that heat that Stretch normally loved to steal from own lovable personal space heater was making its way down, and he was starting to sweat through his shirt. Being squished and squishy was not his favorite way to sleep. Add in the fact that breathing was becoming less of an automatic response as it was an ongoing challenge, and this was a problem.
All righty, then. Time to weigh (heh) his options.
He couldn’t shortcut out because he’d take Edge along for the ride and waking up puking was probably not the way to help him with the stress thing. Edge was pretty understanding about most stuff, probably more than he should be, but Stretch had to think that a move like that would earn him cold cereal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a few days.
Wiggling a little might get him loose but it would probably wake Edge up and that was the kinda the opposite of what Stretch wanted. He was sleeping for fucking once and besides, from the way his husband was clinging to him like a bony koala, it wouldn’t be enough to escape, anyway.
If he wiggled a lot, Edge would definitely wake up and probably with ideas, filthy, wonderful ideas that Stretch was banned from putting on any internet forum even if it was anonymous and quit asking.
Tempting as that idea was, Stretch was honest to holy shit worn out. Edge seemed to be taking this vacation sex as a personal challenge and Stretch had no doubt Edge had broken a number of land records on his ass already, and maybe even a few seaworthy ones if the hot tub counted. If he tried to summon his magic again today, Stretch was afraid it might revolt and run away, and he’d be stuck getting postcards from his dick once a month telling him how nice the weather was in the islands.
So many options and all of them without a Goldilocks ending. Choices, choices…
But like so many things in his life, this one went towards proving an ongoing theory of his; if he simply put off doing anything for long enough, the problem solved itself.
Before he could decide which yellow brick road to skip down, Edge made a soft sound and then sighed, his breath ticklish against Stretch’s cervical vertebrae. He shifted his weight more towards the sofa and less right on top of Stretch, which was enough to let him draw in a full breath of sweet, sweet air.
“Love?” Edge said, drowsily. One of his hands wandered beneath Stretch’s shirt, petting at his rib cage long enough to make him shiver before it sort of wilted into nothing more than a gentle touch.
“go back to sleep,” Stretch whispered and wonder of ever-loving wonders, it was a day of miracles, because he actually did. Stretch should’ve ignored the gambling ban and bought a lottery ticket.
Oh, well. At least Edge was relaxing.
Stretch wiggled just a little, only enough to get a last grumbly, wordless complaint from papa bear back there before he settled in to go back to sleep. Tomorrow his spine was going read him the riot act and probably make plans to take off to wherever his dick was running off to, but Stretch didn’t care.
He knew exactly where he was and there was no other place he’d rather be.

Christmas Eve, the most magical night of the year, and here you were curled up alone on the sofa. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer droning on in the background, playing more for company than entertainment.
Traditionally you would spend Christmas with the Lothbroks, this year Ragnar and Aslaug had announced they would be absent during the holidays, leaving their sons to create their own Christmas memories. You and Ubbe had decided to stay home, the two of you enjoying a quiet holiday.
That plan fell through when Ubbe called last night, he was storm stayed in New York, unable to make it home until tomorrow. At least he would be home for part of Christmas Day. For now you were happy on the sofa with your favourite onesie, slippers, and cider to help you through.
Rudolph and his friends had found the island of Misfit Toys, when the abrupt knock landed on the apartment door, followed by the lock clicking. Sitting up from your stupor of boredom, your heart flutters awaiting Ubbe to stride through the door.
Your fluttering heart subsides, disappointment settling when the familiar face of Uhtred pokes around the corner.
"Wow, what would you have done had I been an ax murderer?" He chides.
"You unlocked the door with a key." Your retort seems to leave him content. "What's up Bebbanburg?"
"Heard you were alone, I thought I'd come keep you company." Uhtred shook the light flakes of snow from his jacket, pulling it off. Jacket hung over the back of a chair, he kicked off his boots and joined you on the sofa.
"I am. I thought you had that dinner at your sister's." You glance at him from your peripheral vision.
Dressed in a knit black and white Christmas sweater, you decided to keep the mocking to yourself. He looks defeated, his hair neatly pulled back and his beard trimmed. The poor soul, having to clean up for dinner with his conservative family.
"Ah yes, dinner." Uhtred rolled his eyes. "I went, I ate, I got into an argument with my sister in law, and I left."
"Sounds eventful." You muse picking up the bottle of cider that had been keeping you company. Taking a drink, you hand the bottle across to Uhtred.
"Nothing was burned down and nobody was injured. It was a success for my family." Uhtred smirked, tilting the bottle to his lips. An arm resting behind his head, he sighed and took another drink. "Ragnar's?"
"Of course." You nod.
Nobody made a hard cider as well as Ubbe's father.
"When do you expect Ubbe back?"
"Tomorrow, after lunch sometime."
"So you're alone until then?"
"Yep." You nod.
"If you want some company, I'd be happy to provide service."
"Don't you have Christmas Day with your sister and brother?"
"They are having Christmas Day, I am kicked out, remember." He winks. "Besides, I would feel better knowing that you have someone here."
"Of course you would." You snort and chuckle. "You know I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself."
A devilish smirk accompanied by a mischievous glint, Uhtred leaned his head over closer to your. "Oh, I've heard."
"You're an ass." You shake your head at his boldness. It was a one time deal and if it were to be repeated, you weren't going for a second performance without Ubbe.
Time was nothing but a mere illusion over Christmas, you had decided. Staying up into the early hours of the morning, creating merriment with those around you. Even if it was only you and Uhtred this year. In a few short hours Ubbe would be back and you would continue on with the plans for a low key Christmas Day - no doubt inviting the wayward Dane to join.
The television programs had changed from classic kid shows to cheesy holiday romcoms, after seeing the latest Hallmark film return to the screen, you decided it was time for bed...alone. In your room, by yourself. No second bodies sharing the other side of the bed. Uhtred had slept on the sofa more than once, he could do it again.
Making this announcement to Uhtred, you pulled yourself away from the sofa. "Do you want an extra blanket?" The decorative Christmas blanket from your mother had taken its seasonal place on the end of the sofa earlier this month.
"I am good." Uhtred stood, the festive sweater and jeans shed. You wished he would have at least asked for some pants, but not Uhtred. He was content to camp in the small living room, in a tshirt and boxers.
"I am sure you are." You resist the urge to say anything more. "Well, you know where everything is if you need it."
"Alright, Milady." Uhtred kisses your cheek, his beard barely tickles, unlike Ubbe's massive face of fur. "Good night. I will see you in the morning."
"Good night, Uhtred." You leave him.
Stretched out on the couch, Uhtred pulled the blanket up around him, his feet stuck out from the bottom. Come morning you would be surprised as hell, waking up to find what Ubbe had planned.

Writing Reflection: 2018
I was tagged by @horsegirlharry, who i will smooch in person in ONE WEEK!
1. Number of stories (including drabbles) posted to AO3: 15. I'm trying not to feel critical about my output this year: I was distracted by ~boy problems and emotional turmoil for a lot of 2018, so I absolutely slayed some journals but neglected my fic. but I also tackled some difficult projects, some of which I'm really proud of, and translated a lot of those big emotions back into writing, so there's a lot to give myself credit for.
2. Word count posted for the year: 224,001
3. List of works published this year (in order of posting)
Roman Candle Hearts
I'm A Wing, I'm A Prayer
The Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique
your hips, your lips, are mine
in space, no one can hear you misgender me
Girl Firsts
halfway to your heart (starting from your knees)
Boys Next Door/Assholes
Vices & Vices
Early Morning Company
Jaws of Death
Baby You're A Haunted House
The Fixed Stars of Heaven
Sell Out Girl
Think of All The Fellas I Haven't Kissed
4. Fandoms I wrote for: Fall Out Boy, Battlestar Galactica, Panic! at the Disco, My Chemical Romance
5. Pairings: Pete/Patrick, Starbuck/Apollo, Pete/Brendon, Brendon/Ryan, Patrick/Michael Day, Frank Iero/Gerard Way, Joe/Andy
6. Story with the most:
Boys Next Door/Assholes, aka the peterick SUMMER BOYFRIENDS au, aka the fic I wrote about falling in love with my ex that captures the sweetness and suffering of new summer love in a very specific and tactile way. It has the most hits, kudos, and comments of anything I wrote in 2018. I'm so glad you guys loved it so much!
9. Work I’m most proud of (and why):
Sell Out Girl, the sequel to girl out boy, is incredibly important to me and I'm so fucking proud of how it turned out. emotionally, i am prouder of the girl out boy stories  than anything else i've ever done. girlfic is how I am cleaning my wounds and healing my heart, and it is an honor to be doing that with you walking alongside me, and being touched and changed too. this fic was incredibly emotionally demanding but also, on a technical level, easy: there was lots of rambly internal monologues and angst, glitter-sharp language and poetical pain, which is my comfort zone as a writer for sure.
on a technical and writerly level, the one I'm most proud of is Baby You're A Haunted House, because i wrote it *fast*, in a fandom I'm not comfortable or familiar in, in a style I don't usually use, and to achieve a very specific artistic effect with the unreliable narrator and shifting sands of reality, while heartbroken. so I'm pleased as fuck with how it came out. it's one of my favorite things I've written in the past several years, and the perfect kind of challenge for me.
10. Work I’m least proud of (and why):
ugh, The Fixed Stars of Heaven . I usually love everything I write, but my experience of writing this fic was terrible. I was never inspired (except when researching the ISS and zero-g botany!) and the epistolary format meant I didn’t know how to develop the kind of tension I *live* for. the whole time I was writing, I didn’t go back and reread (a typical part of my process for matching tone) because I loathed it so much! I kept saying “well, something has to be my worst story” about it... and I still feel that way.
11. A favorite excerpt of your writing:
It's impossible to choose--I like my writing a lot, that's why I write the way i do. all of Baby You're A Haunted House and I'm A Wing, I'm A Prayer are beautiful to me; the love letter Pete writes in Boys Next Door/Assholes; and the whole bathtub scene from chapter 5 of Sell Out Girl, of which this is the very best part:
“Pete is safe and warm and submerged, an egg in a mermaid’s purse, waiting to swim out as a shark whenever she’s ready. She holds her breath and feels her baby beat within her. She looks up at Pat and fears nothing, nothing but love.”
12. Share or describe a favorite review you received:
every review I get makes impact on my heart. I take screenshots and save my favorites; you guys bolster me and keep me going. The best and most important reactions are the ones I get on Girl Out Boy stuff, and the outpouring of fanworks and support means the world to me. especially the way you guys showed up for and stood with me during my difficult breakup this year—wow. I love you so much.
my favorite reviews I’ve gotten this year have been a few different people who told me I was skilled at capturing the feeling of falling in love. as a feelings-and-process oriented romance writer, that means the world to me! I never know what plots my stories are going to have (my characters always surprise me), but I always know how I want a fic to feel. I’m never more honored than when you feel it too.
13. A time when writing was really, really hard:
during the slow-motion process of one of my romantic relationships coming apart in September and October! I was so anxious and keyed up and self-obsessed and miserable during that time, I literally couldn’t bear to write, and when I tried I just kept wrecking the Girl Out Boys’ lives. you guys carried me through.
14. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:
I don’t want to spoil Sell Out Girl, but a ship I don’t typically ship popped up and I went with it, and I was exactly as surprised as everyone reading that it happened and that it felt so right and good!
15. How did you grow as a writer this year:
i tried new types of projects, like the fucking epistolary scifi fic, a flash fiction exercise, the unreliable narrator trope, and sequels. i wrote in a couple fandoms I'm less comfortable in, fairly often off of other people's prompts. I am trying to hone a cleaner writing style: I spend so much time lost and rambly in describing how characters feel, my stories lose a lot of chances for action and motion. i like my writing best when it is spare and vivid, able to actually evoke emotions rather than just tell you what they feel like. i think some of my fic this year really showcases that (like Vices & Vices ). i still grow so much as a writer, and learn so much about the craft, with each work.
i used an editing and revision process for Fixed Stars of Heaven, thanks to my dear friend JM, that i don't usually subject my work to. i also wrote through a project i was not enjoying, rather than dropping it as soon as my interest waned. my discipline as a wild, reckless writer is, slowly but surely, improving.
i wrote through my own shitty emotionally abusive relationship with a parent through the character of Andy in sell out girl, and got better at naming trauma and abuse and setting my own boundaries as a result of that.
i started reading (and a little bit writing) poetry again.
16. How do you hope to grow next year:
oh, i can't see that road! i hope i grow in ways i never expected cuz i'm faced with challenges in my work i could never have anticipated. generically, i hope i keep tightening my style and improving my discipline, and getting better at defending regular writing time.
17. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):
- i read only works by women for the entire year of 2018, and the nourishing impact of that on my entire inner life cannot be overstated. i didn't even read a comic book or a work book if it was written by a man. i kept myself entirely pure of the labor of perspective-taking for men, or subjecting myself to men's conception of anybody else's experiential reality.
- @leyley09 my official Fic Enabler, who is SINGULARLY AND SOLEY to blame for at least two fics this year, and has encouraged my very worst ideas about a hundred more
- my unofficial cheerleading squad family on tumblr, who lifted me up and made sure i was healthy, supported, and well through my whole shitty relationship ending debacle. @glitterandrocketfuel, @secretstudentdragonblog, @allkindsofplatinumandpercocet, and @laudanumcafe -- not to mention every other beauty who commented on my sad-ass selfies or my fic. thank you, my loves.
18. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year:
EVERYTHING IS REAL
most notable and egregious examples:
- the letter pete writes for patrick in boys next door/assholes is a real love letter i gave someone
- the fight brendon and ryan have in vices & vices is a real fight i had with a partner
- the climactic kiss on the streets of new york at the end of sell out girl is my real first kiss with my new boo
the worst thing is that i don't generally farm my *past* life for my fic--everything that shows up is really recent and fresh, because i'm most interested in writing things i'm currently dealing with and experiencing. and yes, i especially steal the sex scenes.
19. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:
be curious about yourself and your characters. if you've never written / published in a serial format, where you're only writing a week or so ahead of posting, you must try it at least once! listen to what your readers are noticing about your themes and characters! i learn so much about my the emotional resonance and direction of my stories from the people who read them and comment. my writing is so much stronger as a result of writing the majority of my work this way, and i have much more fun with it than when i write a long piece in an echo chamber with no input from you guys!
20. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:
- i'm working on a Rent-A-Family trope + law firm AU + kidfic thing i started messing with last year
- Pete Wentz's Bisexual Realizations, a fic dreamed up and playlist-empowered by @nikadd
- a Venom AU for my beloved @immoral-crow
- Girl Out Boy hiatus fic
- and a MANIA anniversary surprise <3
21. Tag some writers whose answers you’d like to read.

So you gave Ravus a S/O as well. Is she like Aunt Avietas or other? I would like to learn more either way. *pulls up chair*
Well in G.S cannon (which I guess would be considered the End of Eos Storyline and like a handful of other drabbles) Ravus is married. I should mention that his wife- Gaza- and Aunt Aevitas both are within the same storyline but like an AU of End of Eos.
Idk what even my own canon is anymore. Σ(‘◉⌓◉’)
But about Gaza, wife of one Ravus Nox Fleuret.
Gaza is from Altissia, daughter of a higher aristocrat.
Born with Vitiligo, she was well known in High Society by the white streak in her hair, her long sleeves and dresses
Not many are aware of what the white streak means and assumed she was eccentric
When Gaza becomes of age she meets Ravus at a banquet, not knowing that he was the once crowned Prince of  Tarabene.
The duo continues to meet time and again at banquets and galas that neither wish to be with due to their introvert nature, but guests starting inviting one because they knew that the other would show up.
When it made it back to Gaza’s father that she had been seen with High Commander Ravus at parties, the man began to push further on their relationship, which at this point was just a bonding of two people hating the party they were forced at.
Gaza went into a hiding of sort before reappearing in Tarabene alongside Aranea Highwind
As a joke Aranea suggest that Gaza go and greet the High Commander, when Gaza did on common terms, Aranea was shocked to learn they had a history
Ravus had recognized the woman right away despite having dyed the white streak in her hair
When word gets out that Gaza, who allowed her white streak to reappear, is seen with the High Commander, news is spread quickly that they are courting
Gaza’s Father is adamant that they are to be betrothed, under the false bridge of creating a unity between the peaceful land of Altissa and Tarabene, Gaza angrily states that she refuses to be a pawn for her father and it does not work that way when they hold little to no political stance
Ravus realizing that he actually does enjoy Gaza’s company unlike many others that have attempted to court him inquires as to why she is opposed to the idea
“I am the only child, a daughter to a man. Shunned away from him until I could become of use to him because he did not like my skin. Now that he realizes that he has no sons, I am the one to have to climb the social ladder for one. I refuse to put you in that situation.”
Ravus explains that he can not offer her anything, as he no longer has a title to his name. It is Lunafreya that has the title.
One year later they married only with Lunafreya as their witness, and the officiating their wedding.
Gaza’s father was upset to learn that Gaza signed a prenup which basically stated that she would get nothing should they divorce.
Both Ravus and Gaza were aware they would not get a divorce as they honestly didn’t feel they could stomach other people, and honestly did love each other
Lunafreya was at first very frightened of her new Sister-in-Law, seeing the woman as very aggressive due to her sharp cold eyes, stand-offish demeanor, and sometimes frightening to be around
That was until one day,Pyrna had slipped while playing outside into a lake. Gaza, without a second thought, rushed in to save the pup and then proceeded to carry the dog home when she realized that Pyrna had hurt her paw
After that Luna learned her sister wasn’t scary but actually extremely shy
Gaza was also the one that talked Lunafreya from marrying Noctis./
“You sure about this? The last time you saw him, you were kids. For all, you know the kid is super picky about his food and has changed a lot. He’s not the young boy you’ve met long ago, he is a man now. You may love Noctis, but is that love different from the one that you believe it to be? It’s one thing to write to someone, another to be in their person and share your life with them. Don’t marry for politics, people only get hurt when suddenly their heart and mind can’t get alone, you find yourself not even loving the person you’ve become.”
“So you married my brother for your heart?” “I married your brother because when he is gone, my entire body yearns for him, my heart, my soul. Do what makes you happy Luna you’re the one that has to live the life you pick. If you marry Noctis for the people, you will have to live with those consequences, don’t do it for me or Ravus, or that sad excuse for a Chancellor, you do this for you. You are young, you have the time.”
Both of them were unaware that Ravus had heard the entire conversation.
A few weeks later it was announced that Prince Noctis had taken a bride, that was a commoner.
Gaza is the only person that Ravus is comfortable leaving Lunafreya with for long periods of time because she speaks to everyone she isn’t familiar with the same tone
Sarcastic rage
Ravus only learned of her Vitiligo on their wedding night, when his wife first changed before him. When he inquired about it, she answered truthfully.
Gaza knew she loved the man, but she knew she would be with him until her dying breathe when he did not shun away from her skin
This was also the same night that Ravus learned the meaning behind her name
“Treasure”
He started to call her such, as she was the one he treasured most
After Ravus lost his arm, Gaza began to act much more cold to many people around the Estate, excluding Ravus, Lunafreya, and the dogs
Ravus moved Gaza to Tarabene when he was ordered to kill Lunafreya, knowing his wife had diplomatic immunity and would hide Lunafreya when she arrived
When Leviathan started her rampage on the city, Gaza actually sprung into action, training she hadn’t used in a long time
Ravus and Ignis found themselves being cornered by Ardyn and a unit of M.Ts only to hear a shot ring out, quickly followed by another both hitting Ardyn square in the chest
“Never did care for you!”
Both men turned to find Gaza a large gun braced against her shoulder, firing a few more rounds into Ardyn, her stroll never stopping as each hit sent the stumbling man back, but the recoil didn’t stop her movement forward
Ravus could only watch in awe as his normal mild-mannered, soft-spoken wife, tossed aside her larger Nilfhelm Unit issued gun, that he was aware weighted quite a bit and proceeded to pull two pistols from her thighs and continue fire on the man before
When those two guns ran out of bullets, Gaza rushed Ardyn with a sword, piercing his sternum and pinning him away from Lunafreya, Noctis and the future Princess of Lucis body
“Get them and lets go! He’s not going to stay down for long!”
Both men scrambled to pick up Noctis and Lunafreya as Gaza snagged the Princess’s body and begun running.
“Is Lady Lunafreya all right?” The only snappy reply was, “Give her phoenix down, we have them for a reason!”
The men felt really stupid at this.
Once hidden away from Ardyn, Gaza introduced everyone to the woman name Aevitas, one of two persons that can handle Ardyn. Considering that the “Chosen King” was out cold in the other room with his future bride and childhood friend, Aevitas was their best bet.
In a moment of rest and recollection, Ravus and Ignis inquired about Gaza’s knowledge of Lucian History and how she had come to learn to deal with weapons.
“It’s nice to have a hobby.”
Aevitas does in fact “handle” Ardyn and everything is fine to go.
Aranea did let it spill after one too many drinks at the reception that Gaza was known as the “Behemoth” when Gaza would team up with the older woman when they were hired out
“Dragoon and Behemoth! We were something weren’t we Gaza? Could take out entire armies if we wanted to.” “Aranea you are too much.” “Love you Behemoth.”
Ravus and Gaza end up having a beautiful little girl which they named after her grandmother, “Silva”

the victors shall burn bright, while the losers must turn to ash.
Those words were feed rooted. Drilled into the youth of her land since the first stammering steps of each.
Yes she did abide by those rules long ago. But whatever laws she abided to or war she waged under the sun of Natlan for the glorified Murata, everything paled in comparison to the peace and quite she finally experienced in the land of ice and snow.
It was her new home. Sure winters were harsh on her but so sweet were the springs too. And when the sun sets shone bright red in summer, she who left everything behind , felt bits and embers of her mother land’s divine fire.
He did not know much about her before him, nor did he care. In fact what he cared for was scares and easily missed. So much so as Capinato was usually nothing more than a mount of muscle.
Still he did care. He cared for her trembling form that one winter when he was crossing the country on his way back to the Winter Palace. He trespassed in her backyard unbeknownst to himself and found himself facing a short lady, armed of a cudgel and trembling of cold. Behind her, a few feet in the snow stood the cabin she seemingly came from. He couldn’t help but stare, could you blame him ? How peculiar was it for a ,visibly, southern to live in the middle of nowhere in the vast country of snezhnaya.
“What does a big guy like you get from trampling my rhubarbs?” She asked in utter annoyance before shoo-in him back a few steps to uncover a row of snow covers crops that she hurriedly covered back grumbling foreigner curses “Apologizes.” He could only say, eyes screwed to her hands before he got down to help salvaging the plants. To which she raised her gaze to meet his masked one and give a half grin “That’s more like it !” She smiled.
He cared for that early spring when, on Pierro’s orders he left for liyue and passed the familiar cabin and saw in the backyard a familiar figure waving at him with an endearingly cheeky grin. “Long time no see big guy !” She shimmed what melodious ring to her voice when he crossed the distance to the fence she had built to… avoid certain accidents. “How have you been ?” She asked, putting down the basket of sheets she held. “Good I suppose.” He curtly answered as he used to. “Where are you off too ?” The little lady in thick beige fabric inquired, gaze on his face, again : what exactly was she looking at ? He didn’t answer her then and in response the fatui received a simple shrug. “Anyways, safe trip. Don’t lose your way into somebody’s backyard again : they might shank you.” And off she went back to her laundry.
He did care for the memories he had of his return in early June. This time the lady was wearing a light pink dress and he could smell the cabin before seeing it. Actually it was the smell of rhubarbs and sugar he smelt first. Then he saw her through the opens windows of the kitchen, a pie resting on the edge. This time she didn’t see him coming when the capitaine leaned in casting a shadow in the sun filled room and, consequently scaring the living out of her. “Hello” her curtly greeted “…sorry.” He added sensing her eyes boring holed through him. “Are you familiar with the concept of doors and knocking?” She grinned once calmed in a jokingly scolding tone that made him smile behind his black mask. “Welcome back big guy !” The little lady strode towards the window he made her quite literally jump away from causing a slight backing movement from him. “I have a name you know.” He grunted a smile this time clearly audible. “Pray tell ?” she tilted her head to the side. “I am afraid I would spoil your mood lady” he backtracked quickly realizing how, maybe, revealing himself as a harbinger might not be the best course of action surprising himself in the process and earning a pouty scowl from the beauty. “And here I though we were making progress.” She sighed and how pretty she looked to him then. “Call me whatever pleases you ?” He offered peace. To which the harbinger was only invited to share the rhubarb pie that was colline by his elbow, on the window.
Finally, he remembered fondly the evening in fall when you had invented him in as he visited you on a Friday like he started doing back in that warm summer she asked for his name. Now she were chatting over some hot beverage, in front of the fire she skillfully lit before sundown. She looked so pretty in orange today, and prettier again under the warm light casted by the fire. “What are you so intently think about for you to admit treason ?” She asked brows furrowed. “-what treason ?” The man hurriedly inquired “Exactly” she sighed with a air that seemed to meanly judge his cluelessness. “Sorry, I was simply think about how breathtaking you looked.” The all figure flirted and got exactly the response he wanted in seeing her suddenly embarrassed. “I’ll give you a name, foul debaucher !” She exclaimed pointing him with a grin. And he raised both arm in sign of surrender, ready for any humiliating nickname she had up her fire tinted sleeves.
“Inamorato” she grinned mischievous as ever.
“Only if you agree to be my Inamorata.”
He said as if it was a matter of course earning a well diserved blow to the forearm and blushing beyond reason under his mask.
And tonight cuddled under thick blankets with his beloved, he couldn’t help but smile down at her sleeping form. Forever thankful for that winter night where he encountered her blazing figure over a few trembled rhubarbs.
Tumblr media
She, the ever victorious, used to burn brighter then any other. But in him Inamorata found another use to her blase.
Listen to me.
Capitano with a dainty sunflowery-dressed darling.
Giving us some Beauty and the Beast vibes.
That's all.

A quick drabble (mostly dialogue) of how Milo and Melissa met Zack on the Hogwarts Express, on their first year at the School. The actual stories I have take place when they’re all 13, but I’ll have some one-shots about Milo’s life leading up to his first day of school. This AU will have some inaccuracies with JK Rowling’s universe from her books, but that’s what AUs and parodies are for ;)
***********
Most of the booths on the train were either filled or contained children who were familiar with Milo’s condition. He was used to doors closing moments before he arrived, so he never took any heed and would continue onwards.
“I didn’t realize there were so many wizards and witches who went to school,” Melissa whispered in awe as she followed her best friend down the corridor. “Oh there’s a ton of us,” Milo said with a smile. “We just know how to look normal to the rest of the world. Some muggles could get hurt, scared or just treat us like freaks and experiment on us. At least that’s what Grampa used to say. He said they did it in the Great War.” “That’s horrible.” “Yeah, but you can’t blame ‘em. I’d probably be scared too if I didn’t know how to handle myself in the face of the unknown.” The eleven-year-olds continued down the corridor of booths until they finally came to one that was occupied only by a little boy and a cream-coloured cat, which was fast asleep on the racks above his head. He was quietly playing a game on his hand-held video game console, oblivious to the two peeping heads in the doorway. “Hiya!” Milo said, catching the boy’s attention. “Is this your first year at Hogwarts too?”
The dark hair child blinked a few times and nodded his head.
“D’you mind if we sit with you? There’s no more room in the other cars.”
“Sure,” Came the meek response.
Milo walked in first, his fluffy kitten in tow. The animal leaped up onto the seat and made its way across to the window, meowing as it did. Melissa followed in closely behind, excitement still in her eyes about her destination.
“I’m Milo,” Milo said, holding out his hand to the boy. “Milo Murphy.”
The boy reached out and shook his hand. “I’m Zack Underwood,” he said with a smile.
Melissa reached out next. “Melissa Chase,” she greeted. “Nice to meet you, Zack.”
“Pleasure’s mine,” Zack replied. He closed his video game and watched as the other two settled in, and then pointed up at his cat. “That’s Lucky Noodle.”
Milo picked up his kitten and held it out as he sat down across from Zack. “This is Diogee,” he said. “I got him in Diagon Alley.”
The kitten meowed loudly. Zack’s pet wiggled an ear and opened an eye, meowing in response to the kitten.
“I have a barn owl named Cuddles,” Melissa said, setting her cage next to her. “I would have brought my dad’s dalmatian, but he’s too big and Dad wants him at work with him.”
“What does he do?” Zack asked.
“He’s a firefighter!” Melissa said proudly. “The Chief, as a matter of fact.”
Zack raised his eyebrows. “You’re dad’s a muggle?”
“Yep.”
“That’s neat. Is your mom too?”
“It’s just me and my dad but yeah, he said she was too.”
“Cool, I’ve never met a Muggle-born before.” Zack leaned over. “When did you find out you were a witch?”
“When I was ten!” Melissa beamed. She pointed at Milo. “We went to the same school, but he’s always known he was a wizard. His whole family is magical!”
“My magic is sorta buggy because of Murphy’s Law, though, just a warning,” Milo said. He added, off of Zack’s confused look, “Murphy Curse. All the men in my family line have it. Means anything that can go wrong, will go wrong around me.”
As if on cue, the train jerked and the whole car jumped, sending the children bouncing into the air with yelps. Trunks, backpacks and cages crashed to the ground in every booth, and owls screeched.
Zack, having tumbled to the floor, shook some sense into his head and looked up at Milo. “Whoa,” he said, both in awe and in worry. “And you just live with it?”
Milo held out his hand and helped Zack up. “Yep,” he said.
“Don’t you ever get--” They hit another bump and went flying. Zack grabbed onto the seat as they landed again and tensed. “--Scared?” he said, beginning to get uncomfortable with the situation. “Curses are really bad. My dad says so. He works with them. He’s a curse breaker.”
Melissa gasped. “Maybe HE could break the curse on your family, Milo!” she said excitedly, bouncing in place.
Milo shook his head. “You can’t break this one, Melissa, I’ve already told you,” he said. “It’s just always been there. That’s what my dad said.”
The train bounced again. Milo pulled out three seatbelts from his backpack and gave one to the other two, keeping the third for himself. “They magically connect to the seats, so buckle in,” he said, snapping it over his waist.
Melissa happily did as she was told, although Zack did it hastily in fear of being tossed again. “This is crazy,” he said.
“You get used to it,” Melissa said, reaching over and patting his shoulder.
“You guys don’t get scared of bad stuff always happening?”
“Well, sometimes,” Milo confessed, as he scratched his scar. “But if I always got scared, I wouldn’t leave my room, and then I’d be missing out on all the good stuff life has to offer. And Magic just makes it even more amazing!”
“Where’d you get that scar?” Zack said, pointing at Milo’s forehead. “Did Murphy’s Law give it to you?”
Milo looked up at his M-shaped scar and shook his head. “No, I was born with that,” he said. “All the Murphy men have an M-shaped scar somewhere on them.” He held up his right hand. “My dad has his right here, on the palm of his hand. And my cousin has it on the opposite side of his forehead from mine. Grampa had it on the left side of his chest, and my uncle has his on his left shoulder blade.” Milo shrugged. “Dad says it means we have the Murphy Curse.”
“Were you scratchin’ it cuz it was burnin’?”
“No. I was scratchin it cuz I had an itch there.”
Zack leaned back against the seat, still tense. “I might need to think about all of this,” he said, nervously rubbing his hands together. “I kinda like to stay on the safe side of things. No offense.”
“None taken,” Milo smiled. “You’ve got the whole train ride to make up your mind!”
Melissa poked Zack in the shoulder, making him whisper “ow” and rub it. “In my honest opinion, I think you should consider spicing up your life a bit, Zack,” she said.
Zack seemed to take offense to this, and he puffed up his chest. “Who says my life isn’t spicy already?” he scoffed.
“You just said you liked staying on the safe side of things.”
“So? I know how to have fun!” Zack crossed his arms and lifted his nose in the air. “I’m not afraid to have some excitement in my life!”
“Well, you’re in luck then,” Milo said, just as the train made a nasty jerk. “I think our car just came loose from the rest of the train.”
Zack and Melissa rushed to the window and glued their faces against the glass, staring out to the end of the car. Sure enough, the train and most of the other cars were taking off without them, as theirs began to lose speed.
“What?!” Zack exclaimed, pulling on his hair. “We can’t miss the train ride! We won’t know how to get through the magical shield around Hogwarts! My parents are gonna ground me for the entire summer if I tell them I missed my first day of class--or ALL days!”
“Relax!” Melissa said, patting his back. “It ain’t all that bad!”
“How is this not bad?” Zack snapped. “We just lost the rest of the train!”
“True,” Milo agreed, “But the snack lady is on our car.”
He pointed out the door, and sure enough a little old witch was pushing a candy cart by, stopping in front of their booth while looking around in shock. She turned to the children and pointed at Milo. “You a Murphy?” she asked.
Milo beamed. “Sure am!” he said.
“Ah, that would explain it then.” She pointed her wand at her feet and two chains appeared, snapping her in place. She looked at Melissa and Zack. “You may want to get back in your seats, children,” she said with a wink. “Things are about to get a little bumpy.”
“Bumpy in a good or bad way?” Zack asked as he and Melissa did as they were told.
The old lady smiled. “My dear boy, these are the Murphys,” she said. “There’s only bumpy in an extreme way.”
“Omigosh,” Zack whimpered, throwing his hoodie over his face. “Why’d I let you sit with me?”
“Because you needed a bit of excitement in your life!” Melissa said, slapping his back.
“Whether I do or not, we still don’t know how we’re getting back to the darn train!”
Milo pulled out a book. “Life has a strange way of working out, Zack,” he said. “Also, today just happens to be a very windy sort of day outside.”
“What does that have to do with anything?” Zack said.
The car jerked once more, only this time propeling itself forward at an alarming speed on the tracks. Children throughout the car cried out in surprise, and some even cheered.
Zack and Melissa were yanked forward, and would have fallen off of their seats had they not been buckled in. Milo only sunk into his seat, eyes on his book as he turned the page. “It means younger dragons are practicing flying,” Milo replied without looking up.
Zack’s eyes widened again, only this time, not in horror. Milo looked up momentarily to see his reaction, grinned and pointed out the window. As all eyes turned towards it, a young dragon soared clumsily by, roaring like a baby lion, flapping its wings as hard as it could. Two more followed it.
“The gusts of wind from their wings are propelling us forwards fast enough that we’ll be back on the train in no time,” Milo said, going back to his book.
Zack squeaked. “Dragons?” he whispered in awe.
Milo laughed on the inside. Zack was a very anxious boy, and it may take him time to warm up to Murphy’s Law, but this was a sign that their meeting was heading in the right direction.
Now to get through the school year without losing either of them.

A Family Affair (MFU fic), part 1/4
Title: A Family Affair Rating: PG Chapter summary: A mission to prove the ties of a Las Vegas casino owner to THRUSH is complicated when Napoleon’s parents arrive at the same casino for some recreation--and apparently have a history with the mission’s target. Notes: This is an expansion of a drabble I wrote quite some time ago.  As always, Napoleon being the same as Albert Stroller is Robert’s own headcanon, which I am borrowing here--and why I have Napoleon’s mother’s maiden name as Stroller.
If you prefer reading on FFN, you can read it here: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12950926/1/A-Family-Affair If you prefer reading on AO3, you can read it here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/14780255/chapters/34184486
                                         Act I: Blood Will Out
There was no doubt that Napoleon was in his element from the moment he and Illya had landed in Las Vegas for their mission. The casinos beckoned with their call, and Napoleon was more than eager to answer—it was lucky that their mission was to investigate a casino whose owner was supposedly allowing THRUSH to use it as a supply and finance depot.
“A fairly straightforward mission, when you think about it,” Napoleon said, eagerly looking around at the green felt tables upon which several games were being played.  “All we have to do is get proof that the owner of the Paradise Hotel and Casino is knowingly allowing THRUSH to use this place, and we can bring him in.”
“And here he is,” Illya said, taking out the photograph that had been in the briefing files.  “Thomas Rex, owner and proprietor.  He’s been in the gambling business here in Las Vegas since the 1920s—of course, gambling was illegal until 1931, but there was quite an underground gambling ring back then.  Needless to say, I’m sure he has made agreements with many a shady character over the decades if it meant lining his pockets with a little extra.”
“He probably doesn’t realize how dangerous THRUSH is,” Napoleon intoned.  “Once he is no longer any use to them, they’ll kill him.”
“If we can convince him of that, then he will hopefully give us all the names of those he’s interacted with,” Illya said. “Then, it will simply be a matter of chasing them down.  Do you think he will talk?”
“It’s been my experience that when money is involved, as well as a lack of understanding about the level of danger, they usually end up talking,” Napoleon mused.  “…Sometimes, more money is required, but I consider that an investment, especially if we can round up some THRUSHies from it.”
“While I understand that, I do hate the thought of giving that opportunistic, greedy fellow money,” Illya frowned.
“Not that he’ll have much chance to enjoy it in prison if we can prove he was complicit.”
“Now that, I can live with,” Illya said. “What do you suggest we do first?”
“Well, if we can somehow bring Rex out into the open, that’ll be good for starters; we could see if you can get one of your handy trackers on him without him realizing it,” Napoleon said.  “He’s bound to have passageways here in case he needs to hide money or make a quick exit; a tracker will help us find exactly where he is.”
“True,” Illya nodded.  “But how do we flush him out?”
“Easy—have someone win so much that it grabs his attention,” Napoleon grinned.  “And I am just the man for that job.”
“You certainly are,” Illya mused.  “The amount of luck you have is truly extraordinary—such as being able to indulge in gambling despite being on duty.”
“…Hey, we want to drag him out here, right?”
“Enjoy yourself, Napoleon,” Illya said, with a smile. “I was only teasing.  You are correct, it is a good way to get him out without making him suspicious.  I will look around and see if anything seems out of the ordinary—and cover you in the process.”
“Thanks,” Napoleon returned.
So, as Napoleon sat down at a poker table, mingling with the other players and the dealer, Illya kept a watchful eye on him, making sure that any THRUSHies weren’t going to try to sneak up on him, assuming he was noticed.
Illya was so absorbed watching that he didn’t even notice when two very familiar people entered the casino—at least, not until they approached him.
“Illya?”
The Russian whirled around, not expecting to see Napoleon’s mother standing beside him in the middle of a mission.
“Mother!” he exclaimed, quietly, addressing her as such by her request (she had long since considered him a member of the family).  “What are you doing here?”
Before answering, she held out her arms to him, and he obliged her with a hug.
“Oh, it’s such an unexpected surprise to see you!” she said.  “Well, it turns out that Leopold and I were talking about how we hadn’t taken a vacation in so long, and so, we decided to visit Las Vegas—we hadn’t been here since the ‘20s!  …It certainly has changed, hasn’t it?”
“…I shall take your word for it, Mother,” Illya said, looking over to make sure Napoleon was doing alright.  He was, thankfully.  “Where’s…?”
“Leopold?  Oh, he’s getting us some drinks; if I’d known you and Napoleon were here, I’d have had us all sit down for a drink together.”
“How did you know--?”
“I can smell his cologne a mile away,” Cora said, with a roll of her eyes.  “If I’ve told him once, I’ve told him a thousand times not to overdo it with that Bay Rum…  And he used to wonder how I knew when he snuck out and back in again?  He never figured out that I literally used my nose.” She turned around towards the poker table.  “Aha, see? There he is.  Oh, and what do you know?  There’s an open spot at the poker game…  I think I’ll go surprise him…”
“Mother, I don’t think that’s a good idea; we’re in the middle of--!”
He stopped himself, not wanting to blow his cover, and just cringed as Cora sat down next to her son. She didn’t draw any attention to herself, thank goodness; she was acting as though she hadn’t seen him.
Napoleon, who had been counting his stack of white poker chips, quickly glanced to the side as she sat down and looked back, resuming his counting.  He then froze as he finally registered what he had just seen, and did a priceless double-take to confirm that it was, indeed, his mother sitting beside him.
“Ahh, I’m done here,” he said to the dealer, and he collected his chips, gave a nod of greeting to his mother, and got up from the table.
Cora shrugged and started playing the game despite Napoleon having left.  Napoleon, in the meantime, sought Illya out and headed to him.
Illya merely greeted him with a “tsk-tsk-tsk.”
“For shame, Napoleon—not wanting to play cards with Mother?”
“You’ve never seen Ma play cards, have you?” Napoleon asked.
“Nyet, but I have seen you play cards, and you are quite the shark.”
“Let me put it this way, Illya…  Do you remember when I told you about who taught me how to play poker?”
“Da; you said it was your grandmother.  She also taught you how to grift.”
“Exactly.  That was my maternal grandmother.”
Illya’s eyes widened, and he glanced at Cora for a moment before glancing back at his partner.
“You don’t mean to tell me that Mother--!?”
“That’s exactly what I mean,” Napoleon said.  “You just watch—she’s going to clean out everyone at that table, and if I hadn’t gotten out of there when I had, I would have been collateral damage!”
“The apple does not fall far from the tree, evidently,” Illya mused.  “But I have a difficult time believing that Mother could be a shark!”
“Believe it,” Napoleon’s father said, from behind them.
The duo turned to see Leopold standing there with the drinks; they exchanged greetings, and then Leopold cast a wistful look at his wife.
“The first time I met her was in a speakeasy casino here in Las Vegas, 45 years ago.”
“…What…?” Napoleon asked, staring at his father as though he had just spoken an alien language.  Illya, on the other hand, looked intrigued.  “But… wasn’t there a law against gambling back then?”
“And you think you mother and I didn’t know about the time you took the car for a joyride when you were 15 and without a license?  The ‘20s were quite a time, Boys, and the forbidden fruit often was the most tempting,” Leopold said, as Napoleon went bright red.
“Bay Rum in the car…” Illya murmured under his breath.
“What?” Napoleon asked.
“Nothing…”
“Anyway,” Leopold said. “That’s how I met Cora—a poker game. …And she cleaned me out, mercilessly.”
Illya was looking at Cora now with a new admiration as she added to a rapidly-growing pile of poker chips.
“I must say, I am quite glad to be a part of this family.”
Napoleon just gave a still-stunned nod.
“But, do tell me,” Illya went on.  “What is this about you and taking the family car on a joyride when you were 14?”
There was a long, awkward pause.
“I’m going to, ah, hit the blackjack table,” Napoleon said, trying to ignore Illya’s quiet snarking.
It was best to focus on the mission, anyway; between him at the blackjack table and his mother at the poker table, they were sure to lure out Rex, as far as he was concerned. That was going to be the easy part; the complicating factor now would be trying to continue with their mission now that his parents were there and would, undoubtedly, want to spend some quality time together with them.
Illya was already finding that a challenge—he had quickly sobered once Napoleon and Cora both continued playing games.  Leopold, in the meantime, still had a drink in each hand.  With a good-natured shrug, he offered the second drink to Illya, who responded with a wan smile.
“That is very kind of you, but I think I shall refrain for the time being,” he said, politely.  “I’m sure Mother will come back for that drink, anyway.”
Leopold blinked, suddenly understanding.
“…You and Napoleon didn’t come here for a pleasure trip,” he realized.  “You two are on duty, aren’t you?”
“Er… yes.  I’m sorry, Father; we did not expect you two here at all, and we must get back to work,” Illya said, apologetically.  “…Exactly how much time were you and Mother planning to spend in the casino?”
“…Er…” Leopold said. “I’m sorry, Illya, but we have reservations in this hotel.”  He gave Illya a sympathetic look as the Russian’s face fell.  “Cora and I, we’ve been wanting to celebrate the anniversary of the day we first met.  And, naturally, we thought that coming back to Las Vegas, where it happened, would be a great way to celebrate.  It was a bit of an impulse decision, and, as a result, finding reservations wasn’t easy; this hotel was one of the last ones with available rooms…”
“It cannot be helped,” Illya conceded.  “You understand, of course, that our concern is that if any of our enemies realize that you are Napoleon’s parents, they will not hesitate to attempt to use the two of you as leverage.”
“I know,” Leopold sighed. “Cora told me all about the time when that Emory Partridge fellow tried to kidnap her; it’s a lucky thing for all of us that he underestimated her ability to defend herself.”
“Very much so,” Illya agreed.
“Rest assured that neither of us have any intentions of allowing ourselves to be used as leverage against you boys.”
“Thank you,” Illya said. “Just try to keep a low profile; with any luck, Napoleon and I can finish the mission quickly.”
“We’ll try to stay out of your way, then,” Leopold promised.
“Right.  And if you happen to see the owner of this casino, see if you can let us know—as discreetly as possible, of course,” Illya requested.
“Of course,” Leopold echoed.  “But how will know the owner?”
“This is him,” Illya said, showing the picture from the mission briefing file.
Leopold stared at the photograph, a look of dawning recognition—and horror—growing on his face.
“…Is everything alright?” Illya asked, knowing all too well that it wasn’t.
“No,” Leopold said, his normally good nature changing rapidly.  “This man… Is his last name Rex?”
“Da, Thomas Rex,” Illya said.  He paused, about to ask the obvious.  “…You know him, don’t you?”
Leopold’s expression changed to a deep frown.
“All too well,” he replied. “Well, Illya, you and Napoleon can cast aside all worries about Cora and I drawing too much attention to ourselves—we’re checking out of this hotel right now.  Excuse me, please.”
Illya stared, stunned, as Leopold handed both drinks to him and made a beeline straight for Cora and the poker table.  Obviously, Leopold and Cora had some very unpleasant history with Rex if Leopold wanted them to leave—and without any guarantee that they’d get reservations elsewhere.
And as Leopold continued to head towards Cora, Illya now headed towards Napoleon, who saw him coming and finished up his hand, collecting his chips as Illya approached; the look of concern didn’t escape him.
“What is it?” Napoleon asked.  “Did you see Rex?”
“Nyet; but something is happening.  Did either of your parents ever mention Rex before—anything at all when you were young?”
Napoleon shook his head and looked over at the poker table.  Leopold was pulling Cora aside, and showing her the photograph that Illya had given him.  Cora noticeably paled; she said something to her husband and nodded, turned back to the poker table, collected her chips, and moved to where she could cash them, with Leopold right by her side.
“Ma and Dad both know Rex,” Napoleon realized.
“And, clearly, the memories are not good ones,” Illya added.
“Clearly…” Napoleon said.   He was torn, wanting to check up on his distraught parents, yet knowing that he couldn’t afford to break his cover.
“They were checked in at this hotel,” Illya went on.   “But now Father wants to leave—without any guarantee that they’ll get reservations elsewhere.  Napoleon, what could it be that got the two of them nervous enough to run?  Even Mother—she is normally as stubborn as they come, but even she seems eager to avoid running into Rex again.”
“You’re right; I’ve never seen Ma this nervous, and that includes the time she was with Partridge,” Napoleon said.  “I wish we could help…”
“I know, but we best not—we can’t have them linked to us when we’ve got THRUSHies around…” Illya trailed off.  “Oh, dear…”
“What?”
“…Rex got smoked out after all.”
Napoleon and Illya could only stare, helpless, as Rex emerged from a back room, making a beeline for Cora and Leopold as they attempted to leave.
“‘Oh dear’ is right,” Napoleon sighed.
